You're not understanding then. We want both, and it's not like it's some herculean feat. In-game access to Grimoire would be much better than going off and using an external device to access it. But we still want Grimoire outside of D2. Let's say you're writing a post on how Ghaul managed to build the thing that encapsulates the Traveler. Are you going to turn on your Xbox/PS4, replay some missions to get to the cutscenes, write them down, turn it off, and continue writing your post, only to remember that you need another part, so you turn your console on again? No. That would be an insane amount of time wasted.

Welp good thing it is on PC then huh? I mean have you ever experienced the glory that is alt+tab, or maybe just windowed mode? Lol.
-
Yea see I'm not going to spend $1,000 just so I can view Grimoire and write a post at the same time. I dont think many would by a PC for that reason.
-
Inaccurate assumptions aside, you didn't buy your console of choice for that reason either lol. Fact is you can do it easily on PC, people that care will move to it. Especially if it's their "job" and it will end up archived like it is now on the web. It won't be a problem.

Edited by The Warden: 5/23/2017 9:08:06 PMGreat. I see no reason why Grimoire can't exist in both D2, with the new system, and on the internet, in the card system we have here. Card-making is not a hard job to do when you already have the stuff you need in front of you.
When did I start talking about jobs before this reply?
I don't think anyone is saying it can't or shouldn't, unless we are talking about priorities. I think even you would be dishonest to say that priority should be having it external. Which again the community will likely put out on the web themselves, so I can see why they wouldn't care anymore assuming as much.

Edited by The Warden: 5/23/2017 11:43:39 PM
I don't think anyone is saying it can't or shouldn't, unless we are talking about priorities.
I agree.
I think even you would be dishonest to say that priority should be having it external.
My priorities (in order) -Dedicated Servers -Larger Maps -In game Lore -Better Story/Campaign 3 out of the 4 are supposedly in the game already. Having external lore isn't a priority. It should just exist. I'm not saying "Put that above balancing PvP," I'm saying external lore shouldn't be something to worry about.
Which again the community will likely put out on the web themselves, so I can see why they wouldn't care anymore assuming as much.
Sites like Ishtar Collective do exist, and I'm grateful for hearing that they will organize D2's lore so it can be readily available. A comparison would be like losing our Y1 weapons in Y2, just obviously on a much lesser scale. We had it, we liked it (or didn't care about the cards), and they've taken it from us. Sure, they're replacing it with actual story, but it's two steps in the right direction, then one step backwards. Granted, I don't know how they're doing it. But I'm not sure how they'll manage to implement lore that, arguably, has no effect on the game itself. Like the TLW/Thorn parts of the lore. There was no quest for TLW, and that quest we got for Thorn had little to do with TLW. How would something like that (bolded because it's an example, not actually that) be implemented into the game? And if it did, would it even make sense? Decided to quote because I may have misunderstood something.
Edit-spelling error
Yeah I wasn't asking what your priorities were as a whole lol. Just between external and internal lore, and again I figure it would be dishonest of you to say external is priority especially over having it in the game. They could simply do what they did in the grimoire for that story in the game. Literally one to one at the least. Not sure what there is to get confused or worried about. Also I doubt they are going to put their writers on a leash, would be odd to ask them to write all of that and then not. As unsuccessful as it may have been it's no fault of the writers. Which they don't seem to be blaming them either, hence moving that stuff into the game. I get that it would be nice to have outside of the game, but I am just saying if they don't have time for it and only time for putting it in the game I'd rather that.

Well, if they can't put it in, they can't put it in. Nothing's going to change that. But, if we voice our opinions, they could change it sooner, rather than later. If they, for some odd reason, actually can't write out the lore, I guess we'll live with it. I'd still like for lore to be outside the game and inside the game, though.

Well whether bungie does or not, and options are always nice yes, at the very least the community will get it done. Though again options are nice and they would be kind to provide them, It's a fare thing to be concerned with even if it is small in the grand scheme of things. Now if only the concern could be made more clear, so others, like myself it seems don't misunderstand. That or worse it doesn't get lost in those complaining to complain.
