All over the internet, forums, subreddits and youtube I see praise over this gun. And not just old praise, I mean people are currently drooling over this weapon. Is there any specific reason that I'm missing?
I got my hands on one but haven't given it a swing yet and I'm curious as to what all the hype is about. I see it's got a decent set of perks, but idk, on paper I don't see anything to send a postcard to Bungie about.
Edit: Appreciate all the comments from everyone. Sounds like a gun that could be pretty fun to whip out now and then in the Crucible.
My personal baby has been my Cryptic Dragon with Reactive Reload/BF/Zen. It's been nice to see just how many other people use a plethora of other weapons aside from the usual MIDA.
Cheers folks! Thank you and feel free to continue sharing thoughts and opinions. I've enjoyed seeing what everyone else has rolled on their CD; seems to drop God tier rolls pretty commonly.

Is it better than fatebringer? (The burning eye)
-
1 ReplyExplosive rounds and little to no recoil, phew
-
5 RepliesMy adept version of the Burning Eye is similar (but not the same) as the Mida Multi-tool. I use it in that way, sort of like a legendary edition of the exotic. If you like using Mida (and who doesn't?) then Burning Eye is not all that much different as far as scout rifles go.

5 RepliesThe pvp snowflakes need to feel special. That is all.
-
13 RepliesI got one from a scout rifle bounty, and I have to say that I prefer the crowd control + reactive reload Cryptic Dragon. (Surprisingly a common roll)
-
2 RepliesZen moment is one of the most underrated perks in the game, is what's so great about burning eye.
-
I'd like to get one from the bounty but all I get is that damn crucible scout with shit rolls
-
Its really great in pve when you have a vex minotaur charging at you
-
It is near max Range and has Explosive Rounds and Zen Moment to max its Stability and Damage. The thing is insanely powerful in both PvE and PvP.
-
It's a really fun gun to use. Even in crucible at the right range it's pretty awesome
-
4 RepliesIt's my favorite non-Adept primary for PvE. To me, it feels more powerful than other scouts... It probably is pretty much the same, but I just like it... Plus the sight on it is great. It's the only primary I use outside of VoG (I use VoC for Oracles), KF (I use Smite of Merain for extra Taken damage/ToM) and the Abyss in CE (Zhalo) as far as raids go. If there's no elemental burn in strike's etc, it's my go to primary. But, to each their own.

I've had the burning eye for months. But I actually enjoy my Inward Lamp much better. I was never able to acquire one in year 2. What a fun gun!

I got my hands on one but haven't given it a swing yet
How about... you give it a try first and THEN you write this post?
-
26 RepliesBest PvE primary, up there with og vendor Hung Jury. Enough said.
-
I have a Keystone with perfect balance, crowd control and explosive rounds that I like much better. 🤓
-
1 ReplyFor Aksis phase 2 (1 shots shanks with a 48 rate of fire and a sight that highlights enemies) it is great, outside of that I have many better scouts.
-
Loved it until I dropped a Cryptic Dragon with Zen Moment, Explosive rounds and Firefly
-
It's great nuff said
-
Helped me 2 man and solo aksis. Its a great gun for WotM and any other PvE activity
-
Edited by The_Moustache: 5/23/2017 1:57:31 PMIt's got nice perks and can kill Shanks in one shot in WotM due to having ballistic options instead of different scopes. Other Scout Rifles can roll with better perks though.

Its a niche weapon. So love it some dont, personally i enjoy it for situational usages. For instance it is wonderful for aksis since it can 1 shot shanks and it is relatively high RoF so it can do so quickly and efficiently for a longer period and range.
-
Its garbage
-
Go use it, and you will know why. It's just good.
-
10 RepliesIt's all about coveting and cosmetics, absolutely nothing more. End of story. I'll go a step further and add that none of the Trials weapons offer heads above the rest advantages over other weapons. That's why you never see them topping the use/meta list.
-
Decent stats, great scope, explosive rounds.
-
It's a good gun overall. It's my main gun to use in long range engagements in pvp and its my favorite weapon to use in wotm, next to fatebringer.
