Destiny 2 Gameplay Change List

Hi there! This thread is an attempt at collecting the information available to us for Destiny 2's gameplay. Most of what I will put in this thread has been gleamed from gameplay videos from those who were allowed to record footage of the game at the Gameplay Premiere Event, but I will add anything that has been missed. This thread WILL NOT contain the information gleamed from the Gameplay Premiere, as anyone can retrieve that info by watching the recap. General - Destiny 2 now has split tuning. PVP AND PVE STATS ARE OFFICIALLY SEPARATE. - Servers are now dedicated per activity, as a hybrid of dedicated and p2p servers. This will hopefully reduce lag and host migration is no longer a necessity. Armor - Armor now no longer contains Intellect, Discipline and Strength. They have been replaced by Armor, Agility and Recovery, the stats that are tied to class upgrades in D1. - Armor Upgrades are relatively the same, just tweaked to accommodate for above changes. Weapons - Rounds Per Minute seems to have replaced Rate of Fire for a numerical value over a bar value system. All other stats are present. - Weapon Upgrades tweaked, each one affecting a gun with positives and negatives. One example is "Magazine dropped on reload, wasting bullets but greatly increasing reload speed." - Weapons now have a type! Known examples of these are:
> "AGGRESSIVE" (High damage, high recoil.) > "HIGH IMPACT" (Long range, slow firing, and high damage.) > "LIGHTWEIGHT" (Move faster with this weapon. (This is a clear rehash of the Lightweight perk)) > "ADAPTIVE" (Well-rounded, reliable and sturdy.) > "PRECISION" (Recoil pattern is more vertical.) > "HÄKKE PRECISION (might vary on every weapon) > "RAPID FIRE" (Deep ammo reserves. Fast reload when empty.).
- Weapons now can be modified to some extent. Details are unclear, but it seems that weapon mods exist and can provide weapons with new tricks. - Weapons in Energy/Kinetic slots: > Hand Cannons > Sidearms > Submachineguns > Scout Rifles > Auto Rifles > Pulse Rifles - Weapons in Power slot: > Grenade Launchers > Fusion Rifles > Shotguns > Rocket Launchers > Sniper Rifles > Machine Guns? > Swords? - Ghosts are tweaked. They now track all resources on specific planets within a certain range. Classes Confirmed Hunter Subclasses: > Gunslinger
- Super: Golden Gun. Blast enemies to pieces with a Solar gun. - Way Of The Outlaw > Explosive Knife (Throw a knife at enemies that explodes shortly after impact when Melee energy is full.) > Six-Shooter (Golden Gun can be fired quickly up to six times, but has a shorter duration.) > Bombs For Bullseyes (Precision hits generate Grenade energy.) > Chains of Woe (Precision kills increase weapon reload speed for you and nearby allies.) - Unnamed Ability Tree > Knife-Juggler (Throw a knife at enemies when melee energy is full. A Precision kill with this ability immediately recharges it.) > Line 'Em Up (Precisiom hits with Golden Gun increase its damage and extends its duration.) > Crowd-Pleaser (Precision hits with Golden Gun generate Orbs of Light for your allies.) > Gunslinger's Trance (Enter a trance with each Precision Kill, reducing the cooldown of your Golden Gun.)
Confirmed Titan Subclasses: > Striker.
- Super: Fists of Havoc. Now a roaming Super. Increased move speed, multiple slams and a shoulder charge like Sunstrike. - Code of The Juggernaut. > Frontal Assault (Powerful Melee that increases weapon stability for 10 secs.) > Reversal (Melee kills immediately trigger health regen) > Knockout (Break enemy shields to increase melee range) > Trample (Super lasts longer while sprinting. Duration increased with every enemy kill.) - Unnamed Ability Tree > Shoulder Charge (Sprint a bit then Melee to charge.) > Aerial Strike (Fist of Havoc deals more damage the longer it's in the air.) > Magnitude (Extended duration of Pulse and Lightning Grenades, plus Aftermath) > Aftermath (Disorient enemies and leave damaging AoE at point of impact)
Confirmed Warlock Subclasses: > Dawnblade
- Super: Daybreak. Summon a burning sword and launch cresent projectiles while gliding if you jump. - Attunement of Sky > Skyfire (When Daybreak is active, Descend causes explosive damage where you land.) > Phoenix Dive (Hold a button while in-air to quickly Descend and regenerate Health.) > Risen Angel (Aim while in the air to hover in place for a short time. Precision Damage extends effect duration) > Igniting Touch (Powerful melee that ignites enemies and causes them to explode.) - Unnamed Ability Tree > Firestarter (Powerful melee that damages enemies and increases move and reload speed.) > Blazing Dash (Double-tap a button while midair to Dodge.) > Everlasting Flames (Extend Daybreak duration by killing enemies.) > Wild Fire (Fire weapons and throw grenades while Gliding.)
- Subclass upgrades simplified into: > Jump Upgrades > Grenade Upgrades > Utility Upgrades > Ability Trees. Each class gets two different trees, named differently based on class (Ways for Hunter, Codes for Titan, Attunement for Warlocks) - Each Ability Tree is an either-or decision. You can have one or the other, possibly with the ability to switch between the two. - Abilities unlocked by acquisition of "Ability Unlock" item. Possibly gained by levelling up. Level/Light - Current known Max Level: 20 - Current known Max Light Level: 260. Damage and Defense still contribute to Light Level. Grimoire - Destiny 2 will no longer use Grimoire Cards. Instead, the lore will reside in the game via a more "interactive" manner. Enemies - Enemies no longer have Levels displayed. Instead, a coloured symbol and name determines how dangerous they are: > White (for equal strength or weaker) > Orange (for tougher enemies, potentially Major?) Cabal
- New Cabal Enemy Types: > Gladiator - Dual-wielding blades, highly aggressive. > War Beast - Dog-like creatures, aggressive. > Thresher - Akin to Cabal Dropships, but has a health bar. Potential vehicle? > Bloodguard - Variations of enemies. Have higher health. > Incendior - Flamethrower wielders. Can fire in streams or bursts. - Updated Cabal Enemy Types: > Phalanxes - Now has deployable shield. Target the metallic middle section of said shield to remove it. > Psions - Can now come in a sniper variant. > Centurions - new cannon-type firearm. General: - Cabal forces now use laser-based weaponry, as opposed to D1's "rocket rifles".
Vex
- Updated Vex Enemy Types: > Minotaurs - Now fire a continuous beam. Also has a juice box like the rest. > Harpies - Now fire a continuous beam when fully extended. May still rapid fire.
EDIT: Wew, trending!

 • I love destiny and I love all the changes they are doing it's somewhat the same but totally different and it's great and pve and pvp being separate is even better and should have been done in d1 but not complaining, I'm so far beyond excited for the beta and cannot wait
