Isn't the average human eye only able to discern 24-30fps? And anything beyond 30 is like splitting hairs

24 is about when the human eye is tricked into seeing motion instead of just a quick succession of pictures. If you double the amount of frames in the same timeframe the video is smoother, there's no denying that. Anyone with a normal functioning eye should be able to tell the difference.

Its a myth. But still 30fps is fine. The human eye can see about up to 150fps i believe.

Actually the nerves can fire at up to 1000 times per second, however while most people can spot differences up to about 150 fps any faster than that is unnoticeable by most.

USAF did a test and ppl saw up to 220fps.
