I'm just pissed that modern consoles can't handle it. PS4 Pro owners in particular should be really upset with their purchase. PC is becoming more and more of a viable option...

Don't forget about Scorpio
-
In terms of specs alone, the Scorpio dusts the PS4 pro. Presumably, it could run D2 at 60FPS, but time will tell.
-
No question its more powerful, but no matter how much more powerful it is, its held back by the xbos. Remember that xbo and scorpio will be playing together. You really think MS or bungie will allow one to have that kind of an advantage in the same echo system?
-
Cross platform play between the X1 and the XS is not confirmed.
-
That would be a really huge mistake. Also, where was it said that would be even an option for game devs to do? Say, Scorpio sells 2mil when it releases this year (and im being generous with that number), how many of those do you think would pick up a copy of D2, a series that don't have the best rep on the xbox side. Match making would be a nightmare due to its small install base if they do separate the two as you say.
That would be a really huge mistake.
Making cross play or no cross play?
Also, where was it said that would be even an option for game devs to do?
Can you rephrase that?
Say, Scorpio sells 2mil when it releases this year (and im being generous with that number), how many of those do you think would pick up a copy of D2, a series that don't have the best rep on the xbox side. Match making would be a nightmare due to its small install base if they do separate the two as you say.
Microsoft isn't counting on Destiny to sell copies on the Scorpio, so they probably won't care. The Xbox Scorpio's version of destiny will probably sell well, too, assuming it has a higher frame rate than 30.

So MS wouldn't care about their customers experience? If that's the case then why even bother with the Scorpio? They wont separate the two and will have cross platform play between scorpio and xbos. They have said many times Scorpio wasn't meant to replace the xbo, but instead its meant to be a more premium version of it. They will play together and ms or bungie wont give one that kind of advantage over the other. If they were to keep them separate, then those who buy the game on scorpio would have a much crappier time since not everyone who buys scorpio would get D2, since as you said its not a system seller. For games like destiny its the community that matters and people would normally go where the numbers are. Not the mention the drop off that inevitably happens after a few months would further shrink those numbers of people play d2 on scorpio further affecting the experience negatively. So yes, scorpio will be playing nicely with the xbos which means it will be held back by ot as well. At least until the number of scorpios im the wild catch up to or exceed the number of xbos.

Edited by Realsvi: 5/21/2017 3:25:55 AMBut that is a symptom of a larger problem. Its not jist a problem for destiny, but all other competitive MP games. As long as they continue to support the xbos, any competitive mp game that releases on scorpio will have to have parity with xbos. Sure MS said they leave it up to the devs whether or not to do that, but that's just a sneaky cop out for them to take the heat abd backlash off of them and pin it all on the dev. Of course the devs see that too, so they won't do that and will just play ot safe abd have parity between the scorpio and xbos. Look at it tis way, do you think any dev would risk pissing off 30-40 mil xbos owners to appease the 2 or so mil of new scorpio owners? Not only would they lose out on millions in sales, but they would also lose a hell of a lot of good will. You think the next cod, halo, bf or gow that comes put would say -blam!- you to all the millions of xbos owners that didn't pick up the scorpio and pin them against the smaller fraction of those that did pick up the scorpio with all of that advantage? As long as the xbos outnumbers the scorpio, you wont see that kind of advantage in MP competitive games. For SP games you will see everything the scorpio has to offer, definitely. Just not in your competitive games. Same can be said for the Pro and ps4, just to a less degree because the difference between those two isn't as great as it is between the scorpio and xbos.

If you say so. All this remains to be seen.
-
We will see. But I would be shocked if they allow the scorpio have that kind of advantage over xbos players.
-
Yup hopefully

A) Scorpio isn't out yet B) Gamespot tested a PC build with the given specs for the Scorpio and it cannot achieve 60 FPS 4K which is what it's supposed to do
-
Lol game spot?? Dude gtfo here with that lie. The Xbox-one scorpio can easily run 60fps at 4k. It's already been proven. After that, it could still handle more.
-
Really? You didn't even do a cursory google search?
-
Honestly it would depend on the game whether or not it would be able to do 4k 60fps. I would imagine a game like rocket league could reach 4k 60fps but something like destiny 2 probably wouldn't be able to.
-
They can lol, battlefield 1,4 Black ops 3 all 60fps
-
But not at a good resolution. The reason D2 can't run at 60FPS is because the resolution would need to be scaled down in order for the console to handle both; and, presumably, that would require re-working the engine that Destiny uses. Last time Bungie pulled a stunt with their engine, we got Halo 2, which was a good game, but had massive amounts of cut content due to time restraints that came from attempting to push the engine.
