I'd rather have a stable 30 fps over an inconsistant 60. I'm sure that's what Bungie had in mind when they made that decision.

If the game is coming out for the PS4, X1 and PC, the performance should be consistent even at 60FPS. The hardware isn't old, there's no excuse other than they want to make it more cinematic or something.

There is a noticeable difference in particle effects, texture quality, and lighting. I would assume that there probably some more hardware intensive areas we haven't seen yet that would give the a noticible dip in FPS. That's the most logical reason I can think of, and I doubt Bungie wouldn't do it if there wasn't a good reason. You can take Zelda BOTW as a good example of what they're trying to avoid at launch.

That depends, a fps drop on 60 is better than a fps drop on 30 but we aren't the developers so both of us wouldn't know.

I'm just saying that I can understand how locking the framerates can make the game run smoother.
