I'd rather have a stable 30 fps over an inconsistant 60. I'm sure that's what Bungie had in mind when they made that decision.

  • If the game is coming out for the PS4, X1 and PC, the performance should be consistent even at 60FPS. The hardware isn't old, there's​ no excuse other than they want to make it more cinematic or something.

  • There is a noticeable difference in particle effects, texture quality, and lighting. I would assume that there probably some more hardware intensive areas we haven't seen yet that would give the a noticible dip in FPS. That's the most logical reason I can think of, and I doubt Bungie wouldn't do it if there wasn't a good reason. You can take Zelda BOTW as a good example of what they're trying to avoid at launch.

  • That depends, a fps drop on 60 is better than a fps drop on 30 but we aren't the developers so both of us wouldn't know.
