I seriously don't know now. I'm a little less hyped for the release of D2. A lot of you brought up some very good points in other post about your clans and your raid teams. I'm paraphrasing:
After a raid sometimes me and my team like too play some pvp. "Hey guys we were going too play some pvp, I have too kick two of you". That will go over well.
If you find the guy that said that, bump his comment because that is one of the main things us team players and helpful players hate most about this change. We hate too kick people feeling like a @ick after spending hrs having fun with the Full Team. I'll take fun 6v6 (clash, mayhem, ect) over competitive play any day of the week. Idk if you've heard bungie....BUT MOST PLAYERS HATE ToO!!!
"nah, we'll read it on reddit"~Luke
I find soooo many good post on b.net you'd think some of these players were devs. I also see a lot of complaints but its not because we hate the game. Its because we love it, and hate what its becoming in some areas. I just really don't understand bungies thought process. I cant speak for anyone else, but they only partially listen to some players. Am I alone on this? Edit: Thanks for the comments and votes. A lot of people are on the fence about the change and its understandable. Took me by surprise. Nothing left to do but wait for the beta....sigh I guess. I'm not at all excited as I once was...like wow.

I've been saying since Day 1 that Bungie should draw more from their previous works, aka the Halo series, for Destiny. It was cool that they tried to go way out there for Destiny, steeping out of their comfort zone. But Halo was great, and it makes no sense to completely depart from and ignore the greatness of their older work. It looks like they're taking a half step towards doing this; they're marrying the best parts of Halo with the brilliant colorfulness of Destiny. 4v4 multiplayer is one of said parts.

  • If strikes stay at 3 and raids at 6, there's not too much of an issue I guess. Or they could increase them to 4 and 8 respectively. Or maybe this is what they meant by "separate PvE and PvP."

  • 6v6 was garbage from the start. All out ability fest with little to no gun skill required because you spend most of the time trying to avoid grenades and supers, not bullets. Nothing competitive about it. 3v3 was better but could often be very slow depending on the map. 4v4 has always been the gold standard for finding the right flow of the game and for competitive play. Combine this with the increased ttk, removal of super high mobility tricks like Titan skating, set recharge rate for abilities, and decrease in power of grenades, and most importantly putting power weapons in the hand of only one individual at a time instead of an entire team makes destiny a much more competitive game where gun skill is required (and is supplemented by abilities) and you need to actually think about when to use your abilities instead of spamming them like D1. And for those of you who are going to complain about it becoming a sweat fest, get over it. Name any other game where TDM, capture the flag/zone, search and destroy, etc...is considered a casual playlist? There isn't, these modes are meant for competitive play and should be expected when there is no separate "ranked" and "casual" playlists for players to choose from like in destiny. Casual playlists in games are often in their own section and include games that are obviously about not giving a shit and having fun like grifball or rocket rumble from halo.

    • I'm personally not into 3v3 a little slow at times. 6v6 I like for the pace and randomness of things happening. I would like to see an 8v8 or 12v12 so that being said not sure about 4v4. Will give it a try but not sure how it will be.

      • Iron banner will be interesting, especially if the bounties require heavy kills (or whatever it's called) You'll find players camping the zone where it spawns and you'll also see players leaving quickly if they don't get the 1st drop. Let's hope some kind of penalty is incurred for persistent leavers.

      • I wouldn't of cared so much if it was just another game mode type but removing 6v6 completely that's just fu(king stupid! I always enjoyed playing Clash, Control and Combined Arms! I had high hopes that we could actually have larger scale PvP battles in bigger maps this time around but Bunghole fu(ked that up too add to that the fact that it will still be using P2P servers and it just seems like they took a step backwards. I mean seriously it's almost 2018 and they expect us to not care about this shit?! I would of gladly waited another year for PS5 or Project Scorpio to get a better product from Bungie but as always they're just pushing out a rushed unfinished game to make a quick buck. I'm sad and disappointed!

Love the change. I strongly believe it will make for a much stronger and more fun multiplayer overall. Kills will be much more satisfying and it won't be overall chaotic. That mixed with shottys and snipers being power weapons now is going to take a lot of the randomness out of the crucible and I believe that is a great thing.

4v4s are a cheap workaround for not giving us the well needed Dedicated Servers or a better Netcode. The game will suffer from the exact same problems like D1 once the playerbase drops...it'll just be less visible/obvious because of the smaller team sizes. Lag has always been the worst in 6v6s.

        • I just want to see how it plays out in the other modes that are less careful (like countdown) and more about running around having fun (like control or clash) Then I can tell you my opinion. Everyone's opinion here is just speculation to what they'll think when it actually comes out

        • God, I hate saying this, but just hear me out ok? I feel like if Bungie models Destiny 2 PvP a bit more like CoD, it would be perfect, and here's why I think so. CoD had 6v6 game modes, but they're all more focused on gun skill rather than abilities, and I'm kind of getting that vibe from Destiny 2. That being said, the introduction of 4v4 game modes really appeals to the competetive side of things, as it's not too chaotic and not too slow at the same time. I feel like 6v6 could actually work really well in Destiny 2 if engagements are focused more on gun skill rather than who threw the grenade first, or who has a super and who doesn't. From what we saw at the reveal, I think the PvP was just Bungie trying to show that they can make a really solid competetive game mode, since it was modeled after Search and Destroy, which generally plays slower in any game that it's in. So I feel like Bungie will still figure out a way to make a fun PvP experience and still appeal to everyone.

        • 4v4 is ok. But so is 6v6 and 8v8, and as person who loves BtB, I'm very disappointed larger matches will no longer be a thing. Why not support all options, like back in the Halo days? It just seems lazy.

        • I don't particularly enjoy crucible, so it doesn't matter to me much, but I would prefer 6v6 or 8v8 on big maps I'd say there's a good chance there will be more gametypes when bungie sees the feedback

I hoped they would build the game more around 8 player teams in all activities (4 in strikes and patrol). Can't really say I'd shed a tear for any changes in PvP.

            • Bungie ONLY listens to YouTubers and not their general audience. They'd rather change their game to suit YouTubers than to give MOST players what is wanted. Did ANYONE here say "what Destiny really needs is to reduce PvP to 4v4 and turn it into a gimmick"? Citing that 4v4 will reduce lag and cause players to "master" something is a cheap copout. 4v4 won't change general experiences with lag because its STILL P2P and players are at the mercy or other players internet connections. The fact is Bungie sold out and are trying to be more like Overwatch instead of being their own thing and taking what was great about Destiny 1's PvP and improving it...instead they gutted it and are forcing players into 4v4... Stupid. Not giving players options is NEVER a good thing.

            • 4v4 is also ridiculous regarding supers. 6v6 there were enough players to shut down supers. 4v4, one player with a super will wipe a team of 4. This 4v4 nonsense is going invite a lot of issues. And the map we saw at reveal is boring. They better have maps like Year One Destiny 1 maps. Well thought out maps.
