11 RepliesYup now its the ps4 and xbox 1 holding D2 back....

I saw plenty. That first mission alone would've killed the PS3 and probably would've caused the 360 to turn into a turtle.

9 RepliesYeah, that the game is still locked at 30FPS on consoles is ridiculous. For PvE, it's understandable, but not when it comes to PvP. Other games like Titanfall 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and Doom run at 60FPS; Bungie is decidedly behind the pack. There's is no excuse. Either the engine Destiny runs on isn't very good, or Bungie isn't very good at optimization.

1 ReplyI remember back when Destiny first came out and I complained about the fact that the PS4 and Xbox One versions were running at 30 FPS and someone from Bungie ( I can't remember who ) said that the reasons why those versions were at 30 FPS was because of "parity", I automatically assumed that the last generation consoles were holding back the PS4 and Xbox One versions, at least in the frame rate department. Now, Bungie are saying that console CPU limitations are too blame. I have a feeling that there is a lot more behind this decision than meets the eye.

Edited by Phat King Bing: 5/23/2017 12:11:34 AMLast gen couldn't handle 4v4 pvp. That's why. Oh wait....

24 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 5/21/2017 6:23:44 PMROFLMAO. Oh, child.... All you're doing is telling us that you didn't understand what it was you were looking at....or that you're commenting without having bothered to actually WATCH any of the reveal or the game play that's currently on YT. What you were shown on Thursday was a game that had a play spaces so large...and so many things going on on-screen (in PVE) that it is able to push the current-gen+ consoles like PS4 Pro to their limit. When asked about trying to run the game at 60 fps (and 4K), Luke Smith SAID THE PS4 PRO COULDN'T HANDLE IT. Not because the graphics cards weren't up to it....but because THE CONSOLE'S CPU couldn't. The console's main processor simply couldn't handle the load. OTOH, A first-run PS3? Has less computing power than the Iphone 6 that's currently sitting on my right hip. Not only did a PS3 have LESS computing power than my first desktop PC that I bought back in 1997....it would meltdown in a smouldering heap of metal-and-plastic if it tried to replicate what you were (presumably) watching on Thursday.

3 RepliesYou make fun . . . but how are you going to enjoy restarting your Destiny 2 characters on PS5 to get that sweeet ass 60 fps?
-
No way last gen could have handled the size of that strike, let alone the madness of the mission they showed off
-
1 ReplyInventory space alone....was different

27 RepliesEnd of the year we'll be seing pc players complaining ps4/x1 are holding Destiny 2 back.

1 ReplyPS3 specs:
CPU: single-core chip @ 3.2GHz GPU: 550MHz w/ 400 GFLOPS RAM: 256MB DDR3
PS4 specs:
CPU: 8-core AMD Jaguar @ 2.75GHz GPU: 800MHz AMD Radeon GPU w/ 1.84 TFLOPS RAM: 8GB GDDR5
If you don't know what these numbers mean, then you have no real argument.

Now current gen consoles will hold it back.
-
3 RepliesDude have you tried going back to the PS3 version of destiny? I did a few months back when my plus ran out ,it was not fun the game plays sooooo slow
-
The PS3/360 can't handle the rotating mechanism on Touch of Malice. Its static as a result. The good old burn strategy in the early Skolas days was nearly impossible as opening up the inventory to pop a synth took forever. Activision known for being "money mongers" were unable to release Rise of Iron on last gen. As a result they missed out on a sum extra revenue. If it was possible they would have released it last gen, why wouldn't they? The game generally takes longer to load and spawn into areas on last gen.

1 ReplyI am still legacy #SaveAlpha

Nut up and get with current gen already. Jesus Christ, why is this even a topic?
-
May I remind you of the vault space lock on old gen consoles? And the countless other changes they had to make for the old gen consoles

4 Replies*cries*
Why is he crying you ask? Well it's obvious: he plays on PS3 and can't get a higher console.
Edited by Typo: 5/21/2017 7:28:47 PMAre you trying to say that the PS3 could handle Destiny 2? Absolutely not. If you look back at Destiny on the older consoles and compare that to it on the current ones, you'll notice a severe reduction in visual effects and general quality just to keep it running smoothly. Destiny 2 looks to be another step up in terms of visual complexity that would take it well beyond the capabilities of the last-gen consoles. That being said, I have not seen anything from the game so far that could not be made to run at 60 fps in 1080p with some additional optimization. Developers have had a lot of time to learn how to squeeze every last bit of performance from these devices, and Bungie seems to have the resources to do so.

18 RepliesEdited by Pondwater: 5/20/2017 7:27:26 PMDid nobody notice the added textures and particle effect, 1 example did you not notice the Titan bubble had ripples moving threw it, or the fact it was upstructing your view, these little things take power and there was many like that,. They all add up. That is why the game is still locked at 30fps,. Could the pro and Scorpio run at 60fps/1080p. Possibly but the moment they do that you people well start bitching that they have an unfair advantage cause they have the better hardware and they can see you a half a frame faster,. You people well never be happy

4 RepliesThe Xbox one and PS4 struggle with the Death Zamboni. There's no way the 360 and PS3 would handle some of the shit we saw in D2
-
You're wrong on a conceptual and grammatical level.
-
Here we are......and i see nothing but that the ps3 could not do.
there are a lot of effects I'm seeing even in rise of iron that a ps3 would struggle
-
No. It wouldn't be able to handle the game.
-
Lol pathetic ponies. Ps3 would be running d2 at 10fps lmao
