Hello everyone.
We have a problem and its a big one. In the competitive scene. The 2 things that kept destiny alive for year 1 players like me included Sweats and Public PvP matches. We destiny yr 1 players have constantly asked for the following things from Bungie..
1. Balance
2. Dedicated Servers
3. 60fps
4. High res
5. Something fun to do
Bungie so far has only given 4 and 5, but 1 and 2 and 3 were asked for the most! The worst part is that there is no excuse for not running 60fps in 2017. Please help me get this noticed everyone! Thanks!

1 ReplyLuke said the ps pro can't handle destiny 2 at 60 frames. But there was no comment pertaining to the Scorpio lol

7 RepliesI personally do not give a f*** about frames per second

1 Reply60 fps would likely mean that the consoles will use up more resources to power what can be easily run at 30fps. I think the reason why they did this was so that could pull some massive pieces like the seige engine in wrath of the machine and they could make them bigger and better. It could also relate to needing more resources to power vehicles or even aerial/space battles if they are to happen.

8 RepliesBecause console's can't run it. If the ps4 pro can't run 60 frames, why the hell did you think Xbox one could?
-
Most tvs can run at 120fps now, so 30fps is already substandard. In a year or 2 30fps will be sub-sub standard or possibly even obsolete👎🏻

6 RepliesWooooooo whoooo, Bungie's going MLG, -blam!- you casuals and lone wolfs 🖕🏻😃🖕🏻

Edited by LZ2001: 5/20/2017 8:28:17 PMWhat's the point of 1-4 without 5? 5 should be 1.

8 RepliesNot everyone cares, especially pve people

None of the consoles except for maybe the ps4 pro can handle 60 fps at 4k resolution. Even now at 1080 p the Xbox one and ps4 sometimes go below 30 fps in some places (eg siege engine in WOTM). So if bubble were to put in 60 fps they would have to divide the player base into 4 groups instead of 2. We would have the xb1 group, the ps4 group the xbsq group and ps4 pro group. That would leave the player base too divided and would have extremely long matchmaking times for everyone.

1 ReplyI must be old cause I don't see the big deal. 30 fps has been fine for movies and tv for nearly a century as an industry standard. They tried a higher frame rate for the Hobbit and got nothing but bad feedback. I survived the atari age with less than 30 frames so this just seems a lot of nothing to me. Dedicated servers on the other hand should be the one thing every person should be demanding even if they don't play pvp.

Because they are the kings of giving the bare minimum. But make no mistake, they expect a couple hundred bucks from you for the privilege of playing D1 all over again.

1 ReplyIf you're really serious about competitive you need to switch to PC for Destiny 2 anyway. Once Destiny is available on PC I can promise you that's where the comp scene will be as well.

Because people are uneducated and thing 1080p or 4k makes a game better. Frame rates are more important than resolution for sure. Yes I'm disappointed but I'll deal with on one condition. I want HDR. With it being 1080p and 30fps they need HDR. Without HDR then there's no improvement at all with gameplay or visuals.

3 RepliesEdited by RAIST5150: 5/19/2017 5:26:47 PMBungie is a smaller outfit. Setting up and maintaining a wide enough spread of datacenters for dedicated format would be a massive undertaking, especially if they want to avoid hard region locking. To run this game with that vision they have would likely require it to go subscription based to support it. So it appears they are sticking with the cloud/p2p hybrid format to keep costs down. Which brings up another issue: Doubling the FPS would also mean doubling the online bandwidth requirements, in addition to the increased burden on the console's. That isn't limited to just the end user bandwidth support either, but also increases the bandwidth needed upstream from the end user, as well as things from Bungie's end as well. We have already seen congestion issues amongst the ISP's through key exchange points with only up to a 1mbit upload requirement... doubling down on that can open up a new can of worms. Have to look at the bigger picture.

I don't recall 60 FPS being anything more than a "Like to have" item. Dedicated servers and some form of in game LFG were the top two items most asked for, and one of them was delivered. I've heard that Dedicated servers have been confirmed NOT happening, so that's a much bigger hit than 30 FPS. To me, there's really no excuse not to have dedicated servers, but sticking with 30 FPS actually makes perfect sense when you consider that they will have to take away a lot of features and graphics to get there. Look at Halo 5, they brute-forced 60 FPS, and the graphics are absolutely cringy. Overwatch also has 60 FPS on consoles, and that game is basically an interactive cartoon. 60 FPS on consoles would be asking for too much, I'm glad they shifted their focus elsewhere.
