We don't know much about the Nine - the Strange Coins thing being part of that unknown. - If we killed all the Worm gods the Hive would still be fine. It's the larvae (or full Worm, depending on the power of the entity) within each of the Hive that provides them with strength. We don't know if the Hive grow their own larvae separately to the Worm gods, or if they require "top-ups", so to speak, from their deities. If they can grow their own - killing the Worms wouldn't do much. If they need the gods to birth larvae for them, then killing the Worm gods would stop the Hive multiplying (essentially) since the young would be Krill and not Hive, without the larvae. - The Vex are made out of what is described as "living metal". What you're describing is where their "mind" is located within their stomach. So they're 100% living, 80% machine, 20% Vex mind juice. It's kind of like saying "my arms are machinery, because I use my brain to think and it's made out of different stuff". They're made out of different materials, but we have different materials in our bodies as well (bones, blood, muscle, etc.) - Hope this made sense!
