So Eris started to turn into a hive from staying in Crota's realm too long, and another guardian in the Tower Med Bay started to become a vex from spending too much time in the Vault of Glass. As well as our ghosts being infected by siva in the flavour text for the [armory]Infection Shell[/armory] .
Are there any similar stories with the Cabal or non-siva Eliksni?

A very good answer by Haffoc. I'll just quickly get the end question: No, we have no evidence of either Cabal nor Eliksni technology being grafted onto Guardians or their Ghosts - through exposure to a certain location or otherwise.

Eris didn't start turning into a Hive. After the Hive removed her eyes she replaced them with the eyes of an acolyte. As for the Guardian in the med bay, we have no evidence that it is related to VoG, he may just as likely be a follower of Osiris. Eris worked with Osiris to bring down Oryx so she is/was in recent contact with him and his followers.
