Bad example, but with Dredgen, we know he is Rezyl Azzir so that means he was once Titan. There is an item in that is called "the cloak of Dredgen Yor" not Rezyl Azzir. Could Rezyl have became hunter when he became the infamous Dredgen Yor? It may seem far fetched, but I like to wonder.

He's a transvestite! Jk but I'ma have to agree with another comment I saw that says that they're able to learn new classes but it's like learning a new language and would be like a restart or new way of thinking.

1 ReplyDredgen Yor was classless. He abandoned the Light.

In reality, Dredgen Yor was never a guardian. I remember that before the lore around him was expanded, everyone agreed that whatever his old self was, he was no longer that and was no longer a guardian. And fun fact for the noobs, most people in the beginning accepted that his old self was a Hunter. Now that his backstory was expanded, (which I personally hate since I always liked the mystery behind him), everyone starts calling him a Titan because his old self was one. NO! F**K NO! Rezzyl Azzir was a Titan. Dredgen Yor is his own person that is corrupted by Darkness and is NOT a Guardian. But if you could ever compare him to a class, it would be Hunters. (And don't start making triggered comments because we all thought he could have been a Hunter originally) In short, Dredgen Yor is not a Titan, Hunter, or Warlock because he is not a Guardian!

Everyone uses that reference. If you really read about that Cloak, it's actually Pahanin's Cloak & Yor took it as a trophy.

Can a man change his stars.

9 RepliesJust because he had a cloak doesn't make him a hunter.

5 RepliesHe went to settings, log out, and hit change character, idiot. Learn your lore.

5 RepliesDid you just assume my gaurdians class?!
-
I'm actually hoping that being able to change classes is a thing in D2. Even if you can't change on the fly, like you can only change at a certain place like a social space or something like that. I'd love it.
-
Well I'm a Titan but I've had an operation. No assuming classes buddy
-
Saladin has a cape and he's a Titan. Still want that cape, see if Cayde-6 will steal it for me =-D
-
Yes you can, but it's a lot of work and there's really never a reason to do it. "Classes" are really just different ideologies about how to manipulate Light. Your class becomes whichever one you find the most appealing or makes the most sense to you. You can borrow some abilities, like how Hunters "borrowed" Blink from Warlocks, but trying to change your class is entirely different. To change your class you'd have to start over from scratch and completely change the way you think about everything. The best analogy I can come up with is trying to learn a new language. Like two languages with completely different bases such as knowing English and trying to learn Chinese. Absolutely nothing you know any longer applies. The grammar is different, the structure is different, the alphabet is different, etc. Everything you know no longer matters. It's going to take a lot of work to learn it just at a functional level and even more so if you hope to master it. That's kind of a bad analogy but I really can't think of a better one. Bottom line is that yes you can do it but there is really no reason why anyone would ever want to.

Well we are all one with the light so just pull a felwinter
-
It's possible. In one of the iron lord cards, felwinter (a voidwalker warlock) uses a shoulder charge. He then says "Jolder taught me that". So maybe.

Every time this topic comes up so does these half baked theories that were most likely pulled from a rotting horses ass
-
Transclasstite
-
I'm thinking it was something along the lines of changing equipment (like the Iron Lords can wear equipment outside their class) as well as picking up new skills from the Dark (much like how Eris is still a Hunter even though she can cast spells using the Darkness). It blurs the line between Titan and the other classes but he is at his core still a Titan.

3 RepliesEdited by Fal Chavam: 5/9/2017 11:40:25 PMNo. They are bound to one class, always. Yor was what became of the Titan Reyzl Azzir. After Yor parted ways with his ghost, he was no longer a Guardian, and therefore, no longer any class.
-
Well saladin wears a cape and it is hunter tradition to steal each other's cloaks after they've been defeated so maybe dredgen yor did the same tradition while still being a titan. We honestly can't be sure it would be cool if he was the first gaurdian top switch classes though.
-
1 ReplyClass, probably no. But, other classes have the capability to learn the abilities of the other classes. Felwinter did it:
Citan had seen this parlor trick before, and judged that he could hammer the Iron Lord out of the air— But Felwinter’s momentum continued into a knee-lift that smashed into Citan’s head as the larger man reared back to strike. The Warlord fell, the front of his helm shattering. Felwinter landed next to Citan’s prone body. “Lady Jolder taught me that. I can’t say the Iron Lords haven’t done me any favors,” the voice intoned.
- Iron Lords: Lord Felwinter.

The cloak of Dredgen Yor actually belonged to Pahinin. It's Yor's trophy.
-
26 RepliesActually they can. All guardians start as Titans and we as a whole (yes we had a meeting) decide whom becomes the hunters and warlocks.
-
2 RepliesNope, freshens still a titan
