Thoughts on Destiny 2: Losing Equipment, Subclasses, etc.

Hey everyone, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the upcoming release of Destiny 2. From what I could tell there is more than a little controversy and rightfully so. Here are my thoughts: Equipment Resets I have mixed feelings about Bungie deleting all my exotics. It does, from a developer viewpoint, seem like a good idea. It will give Bungie a chance to remake and rework items in Destiny. We've been through it all, the shotgun meta, the sidearm meta, the exotic hand cannon meta, overall a whole lot of metas. Since the Bungie team has prior knowledge from a whole 3 years of Destiny, maybe they will be able to give us some actually balanced crucible. However, the loot is a big part of our Guardian and their triumphs. We all used to show off Glowhoo and all the raid gear to show that we were defeated some weird robot machine thing by knocking it off a cliff with Nova Bombs. For me personally, I am very attached to my gear, especially the first Exotic I ever got, The Last Word, which is collecting dust in my vault, but I still can't bring myself to delete it. My "Solution" I think the original Destiny Items should still exist in Destiny 2, but just have no Light value, like masks from Festival of the Lost. This way people like me can stare at their Exotics and remember old times with friends in Nightfalls trying to get them. Bungie could also have a special section of the Vault exclusive to the original Destiny weapons, as to not take up "good" weapon space. When it comes to Crucible, they could just disable them to prevent broken weapons from circulating matches. Subclasses I can only really speculate how subclasses are going to be, but I hope they wont be deleted. Each subclass, although some people might not care, have its own story that is so intriguing to me (for Warlocks at least) that makes you want to run around in your garden like a kindergartner pretending to have an Arcblade or whatever. I know Destiny 2 is going to be a "world without light" and all that, but come on, Nova Bomb. My "Solution Keep the subclasses but add new ones. The Whole Game in General This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but I don't actually like the premise of a "Destiny 2". Personally, I liked the idea of Destiny being a "10 Year Adventure", and was one of the main selling points for me. I was really excited to get a game that I could really invest myself in and feel like at the end of those 10 Years like I was a legend like Bungie tries so hard to convince us we are. But Destiny 2 feels like a sequel to me, not a continuation. To me it feels like Destiny, the game I loved to play, loved to hate, love to joke with friends, love to make new friends, was dying and being replaced with Destiny 2, something totally different and alien from the game I've come to know over the past three years. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, but I don't know about having a whole new base game. My "Solution" Just release a "Mega-DLC" as a continuation of the original Destiny. It would have more content than TTK and the ROI, so its like a new game, but still has Destiny as its base game. I know that this is not going to happen, and looking at it from a logical POV, is extremely stupid and won't work. It is probably just my nostalgia clouding my judgment, but I don't to say goodbye to the old oddball Destiny I've come to love. All in All Well, to conclude my rant I have to say this: The release of Destiny 2 will be a bittersweet end to the original Destiny. Even though I strongly love the original, maybe its time to move on. All I can do is cherish the memories of the past and look forward to what the future brings us. Your Thoughts? Please give me your thoughts on Destiny 2, and how stupid you think I am. Thank you for reading this, and I should probably move on.
