Destiny has, on average, about 50% more players in pve than pvp every day (even when trials are on, and even during the pve droughts).
Having said that, competitive pvp should remain as an inside activity in Destiny 2 as it does add variety to the title...but, bungie has to keep the 2 worlds apart, what may be good for pvp may not be good for pve and vice versa.
If they sort that out Destiny 2 will be ok for every player.

Preston what you're going to understand is what makes Destiny such an amazing because it has so much to offer. I would not like it if I didn't have both PVE and PVP that's what makes it special. What Gidget such draw is that there are your hardcore gamer if you only play PVP and your casual gamers who play PVE that's why there's a lot more of them because they're just casual gamers usually even if they play it a lot like I do I like the option to play PVP when I want to

I'm talking about the nerfs mate...they should keep changes to the 2 different modes separate, not 2 different titles...

I like pvp an pve, trials is the most competitive content and if not for pvp I think destiny would of burnt out long ago!
