While I am mainly a pve player, I disagree with the op pretty strongly. Removing features and game modes does nothing but cause friction amongst the player base; I'd rather see pve and PvP stats separated (perhaps restrict weapons in the hyper-competitive game modes? Not sure if that's possible, or even desirable).
