Does Halo Wars happen before Halo: Reach or after?
I'm a little confused, does Halo Wars happen before Halo: Reach or after? I'm very curious/confused of which comes first.

But I can understand Nocb12's point... it shouldn't be canon to be honest. What's pretty funny is that the best thing about Halo Wars wasn't even made by Ensemble or Robot. Well before. Halo Wars takes place in the years following contact at Harvest, circa 2530. Reach takes place just prior to the Halo event, circa 2552 (22 years later). [Edited on 07.05.2010 10:12 AM PDT]

Before Reach. Harvest was the first planet the UNSC lost to the Covenant, also I beleive that is is where the UNSC first met the Covenant.

Halo Wars takes place about 21 years before the events of the Halo Trilogy (the games starring Master Chief), and Halo Reach takes place literally right before Halo 1. Actually, depending on the time lapsed in the Halo: Reach campaign events, it may even still be going on as Halo 1 finishes. If I recall correctly, the Pillar of Autumn fled Reach 30 minutes into the invasion, so the events in Halo 1 start certainly while the fall of Reach is still happening. Anyway, for the precise order: Halo Wars, Halo: Reach, Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3: ODST (starting at the slipspace jump at New Mombasa in Halo 2, then continue with more Halo 2), then Halo 3.

The battle of Harvest is before Reach so Hale Wars is based before Reach.

Halo Wars was about 20 years (or so) before the "Halo Event" (I.E. CE). So yes, it is way before Reach.

Halo Wars begins only 5 years after humanity first meets the Covenant, 20 years before Halo CE takes place. Reach ends as CE begins. So Halo Wars is approximately 20 years before Reach.

Halo Wars comes 21 years before Halo: Reach. The games begins on Harvest, the first planet attacked by the Covenant. Halo: Reach begins 21 years later on Reach, the last planet to be attacked by the Covenant before Halo 1. We know this because not only has it been mentioned in the games, but Reach is the planet Master Chief escaped before finding the first Halo.

halo wars is before reach. note how the battles in halo wars were around the planet Harvest. Halo: Reach (the main battle at least) is taking place as Halo: Combat Evolved began because their ship escaped the fight

Before, it happened right after the Covenant War started. The first part of Halo Wars takes part on Harvest, which was the first planet to be attacked by the Covenant. [Edited on 07.05.2010 9:40 AM PDT]
