A deceptively good weapon; the Valorheart.
This weapon takes Twinkling Titanite, and cannot be infused, or buffed. It's damage is decent, with a C scaling in Dex, and a D in Str (after reinforcement), but it's nothing extraordinary, and every other slash does ever so slightly less damage, not to mention itty bitty range.
However..
The Valorheart has an "autoblock" mechanic. If attacked in the middle of an attack animation, it will count as a block. If you have low stamina, that's bad, but with good stamina management, its a blessing, especially for enemies who can be staggered, like the final boss of Ashes of Ariandel.
Imo, this autoblock makes up for its downside, giving you the poise of a greatsword, with the speed of a straight sword, all with an incoming damage reduction of a shield.
'Course, I'm mainly a mage, so my opinion may not be the best..

Deceptively good? I mean... if you're a potato maybe lol...

It's got subpar damage, short range, bad scaling, and deals less damage every other hit. I'd say the fact that it's good is deceptivr.

Hmmm... I tend to prioritize move set over numbers on anything that's not an UGS. Like a couple of the daggers are actually quite good. If we don't pay so much attention to the numbers. Perhaps we look at this from different angles.

Edited by The First Aifos: 4/29/2017 5:57:35 PMNo I agree, but something with terrible stats & an amazing moveset it deceptively good, as its hiding its potential behind numbers.

No, you're right Aifos, Valorheart is a very solid weapon. Of course, I am biased because of the Gladius :^)
