Yesterday xHOUNDISHx and his raid team triumphed over Crota Challenge mode using only Shoulder Charge and Melee to down Crota and after 13 painful hours straight. Credit: Credit goes to those who made this challenge possible. xHOUNDISHx- Striker/Defender, Youtuber/Recorder Thyy Savage- Striker, Myself Firebolt Please- Nightstalker, Swordbearer Sir Dankum- Striker Johnny Persia- Defender/Striker, Swordbearer alexStylez9- Nightstalker, Swordbearer (Credit to JellyBellyDelly and The unshattered for being there at first when we started and practiced) How we did it: First Phase- We started by getting positions, roles and subclasses sorted. We needed 2 slams to generate orbs from the hallowed knights next to the Crystal room. The other striker would go mid to slam the Swordbearer and thrall of he could get any to make orbs for our swordbearers. Then we had a defender drop a weapons bubble to do increased sword damage to Crota and he picked up the sword after. Also 2 nightstalkers who would both be sword bearers would trade positions on the second and third sword runs. We started by clearing ads on left and right in the crystal room as usual. We had 2 Titans slam the Knights to make 6 orbs each. We stacked up on right side and ran out. A striker with his super went mid with a Nightstalker, the other 4 went into the right tower. In mid the Hunter would wait for the Swordbearer to appear and then tether him. After shooting him a little the Striker would then slam killing the Swordbearer and some thrall to create extra orbs. The defender would drop his bubble on the highest rock or platform so everyone rushing Crota would be able to clip the bubble and get buffed. Those who were in the tower would clear the Knights and Wizard in there while sniping everything over on the left tower. After everything was basically clear the 3 strikers would stack up in the tower and be ready for the swordbearers super to be around 70%. When they said go the Nightstalker would smoke the 3 strikers, jump out of the tower and immediately tether crota. The strikers have to melee Crota almost simutaniously or he will swing killing people causing a wipe (We had Peregrine Greaves on). Due to many lag and latency issues he would even kill 1 person from time to time which did become fustrating. After shoulder Charging we would punch him to make sure he went down. The Swordbearer would jump up as the Titans were about to make contact with Crota and go for a slash slash slam slam super combo. We would all retreat while the sword bearer was doing damage and prep to take out the oversoul. Second Phase- Same situation except a Nightstalker picked up sword to change Swordbearer for challenge. Then after the oversoul went down we went to the Ogre room and dealt with Ogres. Then we went back to the Crystal room. Third Phase- So rather than rushing out immediately after the Ogre round we waited 1 rotation so everyone basically had a super. We did the same thing we would do second round except the nightstalkers obviously swapped roles to continue challenge mode. I had my doubts this round about managing to 3 phase Crota and we prepared to go in for a kamakazie rush to down him a 4th time if need be. Luckily we took him out after 13 painful hours. Sorry if my desctription isn't the best, I'm not to great at describing strategies. It was an absurd challenge idea, and was not easy at all due to rng, latency issues and some lag. It took 13 hours to get the completed run in, and never again will any of us attempt it. It was probably one of the most difficult challenges ever done. Crota has been shoulder charged and meleed in the past, but never before has he been Shoulder Charged and Meleed to death in 390 Challenge Mode until now. YOU WILL SET YOUR CHILD ON YOUR KNEE TO GIVE HIM SOUND FATHERLY ADVICE ANDTHAT CHILD WILL F***ING EXPLODE BECAUSE YOUR KNEES ARE INSTANT DEATH! YOUR SON WILL DIE! YOUR WIFE WILL DIVORCE YOU!
