Tempted by the 3rd Gaheris-D roll (for PVE), but would like the opinion of some veteran guardians:
Truesight IS/Sureshot IS
Army of One
Spray and Play
Speed Reload/High Caliber Rounds/Reinforced Barrel
Good scopes and it has a range perk, but I guess there are better perks than AoO and S&P. I was waiting for Crowd Control and Range Finder, but might burn the order and hang on for a better Judith.
FYI, the other rolls are:
Roll 1
Quickdraw IS/Steadyhand IS
Army of One
Range Finder
Snapshot/APR/Oiled Frame
Roll 2
Truesight IS/Steadyhand IS
Danger Close
Who's Next?
Speed Reload/HCR/Smallbore

Incoming a big mouthful... What content do you intend to use this for? PVP or PVE? PVE wise that is a good roll. Army of One is very misunderstood but that is because most weapons lack the ability to kill quickly enough to proc it. Due to either: 1. The enemy gets tagged by someone else. Or 2. Takes to long to kill the enemy. But on Handcannons AoO is quite useful. You'll proc it often, like all the time often. I have a Gaheris & Judith with it & I find myself using them more than Crowd Control. The utility of it is indispensable. But this really depends pn your playstyle. Are you someone who uses their grenades & melee abilities very frequently? If not then Crowd Control or Grenadier will be better suited for you. PVE wise, the Gaheris will kill most red bar enemies in 1 shot (Dreg, Acolyte, Shank, Goblin, Hobgoblin, Taken) in regular & Heroic Activities. 3 to 4 shots for Yellow Bars. In Nightfall & Raids it will add in extra 2 or 3 shots. Don't be discouraged by the shot count. The gun fires rapidly, accurately, & etc. However, PVP wise it is a bottom tier perk. It will rarely proc. So that 8% refresh per kill is wasted. I am mixed on Spray & Play. Its both better for endgame & its questionable. It is better because it is a guaranteed Reload proc. Since you can always make sure to empty the clip. At the same time Feeding Frenzy is more reliable as you just need to make a kill. I have a Gaheris with: Sureshot, AoO, Outlaw, & Reinforced. If you want to analyze the cooldown reduction from AoO, the rapid fire accuracy, & etc. You can watch an old vid I made long ago.
https://youtu.be/kbXc7VTKucU
Hopefully this can help you make a decision. I LOVE the Gaheris-D & used it for nearly an entire year.

Thanks for the detailed reply, man. Think you sold me on it. I only PvE and I use grenades and melee a lot. Warlock main that usually runs with Nothing Manacles, Embrace the Void and Soul Rip to get that super up quicker with ability kills. Sounds like AoO should be my go to perk! I've never been a hand cannon guy, but I'm having fun experimenting, pretty much thanks to this weekly post. It's like playing the lottery (but with less chance of actually winning). Keep up the good work.

Those two hand cannons are really aerikx department, wait on him to reply, he uses Judith as his main go to.
If pvp is your goal though reinforced is a must

Those two hand cannons are really aerikx department, wait on him to reply, he uses Judith as his main go to.
If pvp is your goal though reinforced is a must

Reinforced is required period now. I hate to sound negative but Bungie has hit HC range significantly over the years & months. To remain relevant & useful in endgame / difficult content. A barrel is required. For example... The Warpriest in King's Fall. A HC with a Barrel is just barely able to kills adds on the left & right. The recent 3m nerf has made what use to take 1 shot, take 2 (with a Judith-D & even while buffed with Crowd Control).
