So, I saw the Call of Duty: WW2 reveal trailer, and I really liked it. And I thought to myself, "wow this is exactly what we've been asking for these last couple of years, and now we're finally getting it!"
Then I scrolled down to the comments and was shocked by the amount of shitbags down there. "This is copying BF1", "Riding off of the success of BF1 much?", "Anyone else noticed they announced this shortly after BF1?"
Disrespectful cunts. They give you what you want, and now you shit all over it.
You might argue, "well, it's Activision. They'll ruin the game 100%"
Even if that's the case, that's not why these fags are being...well...fags. They actually think Call of Duty: WW2 is riding off of the success of Battlefield 1. Even though every CoD game has a three year dev cycle.
The fact that they're even comparing the two franchises...

*cough* Activision running out of ideas *cough*

1 ReplyThe game has been in development since before Battlefield 1 was even announced. I swear, people these days just want to hate things.
-
1 ReplyWasn't battlefield 1 based off WW1 not WW2?
-
1 ReplyI hate it when FPS games are always compared to CoD. As if CoD is somehow the father of first person shooters. Like Titanfall, everyone sees it and goes 'CoD with mechs!' as if it's that big a deal. Or when the Meta of a game changes and everyone is going 'it's being turned into CoD!'

2 RepliesSledgehammer suck at making cod out of them all they are at the bottom trayarch should of made this one
-
1 Replyhasn't the game been in development for 2 or 3 years? do people really think that they changed the entire game partway through development just to have a SIMILAR setting to battlefield 1? and then the fact that CoD started off as WWII series. I don't even like CoD but i was excited to see a WWII game. if they have an open beta, i will play it, if I like it I will buy it.
-
2 RepliesWell in my opinion BF1 turned out to be shit so...
-
CoD WaW v1.2. No more, no less. CoD is dead.
-
After the atrocity that was AW, I'm not expecting greatness by yet another incompetent developer.

3 RepliesHitler was copying world war 1 confirmed

You do realize that ANYBODY is allowed to comment on a YT video, right? You do realize that those comments are likely coming from Battlefield fans, right? Also, you do realize that not everyone in a community feels the exact same way about stuff, right? Stop painting communities as a homogenous group.... they are made up of many different parts. Open your mind, bro.
-
I feel bad for em too. Sledgehammer are trailblazers for the COD franchise, they started the futuristic warfare craze with AW and set a standard. Now they return to a time period not long after BF1 takes place and where segregation was still prevalent. Have we true CoD fans been asking for a return to this? Yes we have and Sledgehammer is making it happen, yet again setting the standard for the next 3 games and taking CoD in a new direction in an old way. I for one am greatful.
also F.U.C.K polygon for trying to tear gamers apart.
7 RepliesDo people not realise it can take at least 2 years to make a game? And that WW2 has been in development for 3.

I tackle the speculation in my video https://youtu.be/rBwICPZFCHQ check it out

11 RepliesThey have been in production of WWII CoD based game for over three years and yet still don't have the story for you to have you play as a woman protagonist soldier against the evil -godwinslaw!-. Disappointing as it is just another sexist game.
-
In my opinion it just looks exactly like CoD 2. We all like the traditional WW2 game but every WW2 game starts off with storming the beach. That was their first scene in the trailer. I would've been even happier if it was in Vietnam or Desert Storm. I'm happy they went back to boots on the ground and I'll probably be getting cod for the first time since Ghosts.
-
Thought this was a post about Eugene (Sledgehammer) Sledge. Left disappointed.
-
See, but the thing is CoD:WW2 was probably in developement after Advanced Warfare released. After the flak they got from AW, they took all the critizism, and went back to boots on the ground. Sledgehammer has had 3 years to develope this game. So it's not a copy paste. If anything, probably bad timing.
-
They said that this new COD would be more akin to Spec Op: The Line than to previous COD titles. It's possible they'll follow through, but I doubt it-- that as really just a stupid thing to say.
-
1 ReplyThere probably is some truth to those comments. There is no denying that CoD's attempt to go farther into the future was not well-received, while BF's return to the past was quite successful. I'm sure Activision took notice of that and that it influenced their decision of what direction to take their franchise.
-
I don't care about CoD that franchise has been milked wayyyy too much. I am looking forward to the day when activi$ion will stop producing CoD. I am hoping that the next battlefield game will be set in 'nam. That game was amazing.

3 RepliesEdited by Unforgiven: 4/28/2017 12:58:27 AMCall of Duty original games were about World War 2. So going back to its roots is a smart decision for Activision. It is a business decision in fact. They are demonstrating that they are in control of this franchise, and that they have listened to the fans. And they will do what makes them money. And fans have called for WW2 game so they are doing what the fans are asking for. The WW2 Call of Duty trailer has that traditional old school feel with latest technology and some story elements. Should be fun getting a WW2 games from a talented team like Sledgehammer. I wouldn't expect a ground breaking game, but a solid campaign and all the basic multiplayer stuff that COD offers. A fresh flavor and the excellent guns that we expect from a game series which by now should have the gun mechanics close to perfection. I must confess the comparisons to Battlefield 1 are not justified. EA does not own all World War games. I didn't really like the guns in BF1. I thought they were clunky, inaccurate and very boring to use. That turned me off from playing the game more than a few times since it came out. I guess accurate guns are not always the most fun.
-
I mean...it's not like people haven't been telling anyone who developed CoD ever to cut out that futuristic dystopian gun ho shit since forever. But whatever, it's CoD, not anything groundbreaking there.
-
Plus, BF1 is WW1, a completely different war with completely different tactics.

7 RepliesI for one am happy that CoD is going back to being set in the past. I understand that some people prefer the future setting, or a more modern setting. I said this a long time ago, but there are 3 companies creating CoD titles. Why not dedicate one to creating games set in the past, one creating games set in modern times, and the third company to create a game set it the future?
