2 RepliesThe Vex are the true heroes of the Destiny story. Trying to stop the darkness for consuming all existence in the universe.

3 RepliesWhy did the Vex cross the time gate? To get to the other dimension! I'll walk myself now lol

Edited by Mar: 4/24/2017 1:53:47 AMLore wise? The reason of the vex cannot be fathomed because they have perspective the tower and guardians (us) cannot ever have, and it is implied they want to exist in a world where nothing can challenge them or become a threat to them and will never die and will always exist. Guardians do not fit into their vision of that world so they seek to remove them when they are a threat. when guardians are not a threat they just ignore them and let them be (such as on mercury where there is no vex activity yet the whole planet is more or less made into a giant machine). It is why they fight the cabal on mars, and why they fight the fallen on venus, those things are directly stopping, slowing, or threatening their goal so they fight them. they also seem to worship the darkness, seeing no alternative to dealing with it than to worship it as a god, which puts them at odds with the guardians who serve the traveler / the light. In terms of the game and gameplay? we need cool things to shoot and something that teleports, is unaffected by headshots, and has multiple classes that all work against normal FPS strategies is fun to fight. besides, evil is relative. They fight us, we fight them. Just how it works.

They don't know evil or have feelings

4 RepliesThey want transform all world's into machines and control them all

7 RepliesBecause they like being angry robots

3 RepliesThey're not inherently evil (although you shouldn't call anything evil as it is a term based off of bias and perspective, but I won't discuss that now). The Vex's goal is to write themselves into time so that they will live forever and never be destroyed in any time. They want to exist. But when they encountered the Hive in the Book of Sorrows, they figured out that the best way to do that would be by killing all other life to ensure that nothing would stop them. So blame the Hive and Darkness for their violence, although I doubt most species would've liked the fact that the Vex were terraforming their worlds even back in the nonviolent days

Because they shot first

Edited by Fal Chavam: 4/22/2017 1:42:29 AMThey want to survive until the very end. There's nothing really wrong there. That's more or less the inevitable goal for all species in the long run. What makes them evil is that they look to the Darkness for help and take on the hive philosophy of "rule the universe so absolutely that nothing can exist without your consent."
but then again if you want to go the route of "it's just their outlook on things." I normally put forth the comment that putting everything else down in order to lift yourself up is just selfish. Such a selfish act could allow someone/thing to be considered evil.
The Vex aren't evil, hell the Darkness may not even be evil... by her point of view. While the Deep and Hive do bad things, they aren't considered evil to people of like-minds. The Cabal aren't evil, just an Empire. The Fallen aren't evil, they're just trying to survive. We aren't evil, just trying to survive. The Vex aren't evil, just trying to establish themselves as a fundamental rule of reality... while piggybacking powers off para-causal beings.

1 ReplyBecause -blam!- you that's why
I'm jk
I wouldn't conform to the morals of others either if I was an omnipresent time traveling robot.
-
Why are all guardians good? I'd like to see rogue guardians in story mode teaming up with vex, cabal or whomever that we have to hunt down.
-
The Vex aren't evil, but what they want will kill us, and what we want will kill them. It's a matter of survival.
-
The vex aren't exactly evil they're defending their place of birth
-
Because when we see beauty, vex see perfection every plant most be made a new ( ekora in echo of the chamber) The vex have no hope , no drive , no fear , all they have is fate ( paradox) And many times the ghost talks about vex in Venus and Mars vanilla missions

2 RepliesIs a lion evil? Is a shark evil? Is an alligator evil? Vex have a purpose that is counter to our purpose. They don't do it with malice or hate. They do it because it's their nature.

Because we killed them. Because We are killing them... Because We are going to kill them.. Time travel is a 8itch.

1 ReplyEdited by Wolf_Odinson: 4/21/2017 11:09:50 AMThe vex are neither good nor evil... they just are. Concepts such as 'good' and 'evil' are human constructs anyway, and as such; like opinions, subjective. For example: Imagine chaos engulfs the globe; governments collapse; anarchy reigns and there are no social constructs such as 'law and order' nor the agencies to implement/enforce them, and it truly becomes "every man and/or woman for themselves". Within this scenario, you and your family are trying to survive; you are armed with the means to protect yourselves. You come across a supply of food that will keep all of you alive for another week. There is only enough food for you and your family. The loss of any of it will mean the death of one of you. As you are packing up the cache, a man and a woman approach demanding the food; will not be turned away. In my opinion, killing them does not make you evil. It means you did what was necessary for the survival of your family. Because you are human; have emotions, you will (hopefully) feel bad for having done so. In the end though, you have to accept what you did - and may have to do again - to survive long term. Someone else on the other hand, may have a different viewpoint. The vex do what is needed for their survival in their universe/timeline(s)/world; decisions are made, and actions taken, with the sole interest of the species' survival as the bottom line. There is no 'evil' involved.

4 RepliesBecause, worshipping the Darkness was found to be the most logical choice for their survival, after they encountered the Hive on Oryx's Dreadnaught. We all know that the Vex are obsessed with weaving themselves into the fabric of the universe, and to do so, it is necessary for some of them to...not die. Becoming evil was a necessary action for them to take to achieve their goal.
-
9 RepliesSelf preservation dear, I disagree with the stranger saying they are evil. They are selfish but not inherently evil. They wish to survive, and the only way to guarantee that is to have no outside factors. That means no other life
-
1 ReplyThe Vex we have encountered mostly have been corrupted by the encounter of Quria and Oryx. Quria captured worm larvae and learned it could alter reality mild ontopathogenic effects when they were worshipped. Quria then directed its subminds to believe in worship. In doing this they fell under the influence of the Darkness/Deep. Quria then sent what it had learnt to the greater Vex.

1 ReplyThey are not evil. They only want to transform everything in machines, but yeah... There are living species, so they fight with them... Because no one wants to die and be part of a machine
