I find primary weapons plenty rewarding to use right now. Right now actually, in the Iron banner, for the first time in perhaps a long time, I've seen all the classes of primary weapons being used. Hand Cannons, Pulse Rifles, Auto Rifles, and Scout Rifles are all present rather than just 1 meta and every build centered around that singular meta. Most of the unfair builds that people used to complain about are gone now.
My only problem is that sidearms spawn you with ammo upon death while no other class of weapon does. That used to be a perk on Vestian Dynasty that it would respawn with ammo, but now every single sidearm does that. They should either nerf that to stay consistent with the other weapons, or let other weapons have a (small) reserve of ammo that players start with upon respawn (ex. 2 shotgun shells or 2 sniper rifle bullets). Personally my preference is the former and the sidearms fall in line with the other secondary weapons.

sidearms had that intrinsic perk since their release in house of wolves, they were never "op" then. theyre only op now because kids cried that no one used their primaries. bungie took special away to get us to play with primaries but left intrinsic perks on for sidearms. If they removed it then that would be like removong the exotic perk fromocebreaker, then its just a sorta... subpar 1k stare.

I don't see how this helps the game or makes it more fun. If anything, it just encourages the use of Invectives and Ice Breakers. Can we cool it with punishing special weapons, please? They've been through enough. Making them even more limited is not going to accomplish anything positive at this point.
