It happened to me AGAIN today.
I picked up heavy ammo, toasted a couple guys who were coming towards the crate but didn't get there in time... ran up to take Zone B.... another enemy started shooting at me... I put some rounds into his head... he had a sliver of health left...
And a Titan jumped past him, dragging my aim away and onto the new target, against my will, causing me to waste about 5 rounds on the Titan, and before I could draw back to finish my original target off, I was hit by a fist of panic and my streak was over.
PLEASE, Bungie, tell me that the aim-assist in D2 will be optional, for those of us who can actually aim somewhat. I realize a certain level of assist is built into all shooters, but must it be so pronounced that teams can have a tactic of circling around each other, simply knowing that when they pass, it will drag the other team's aim from one to the other, effectively making them change targets (and make it harder to finish off a weakened opponent)? I've been seeing this for 2.5 years and it sickens me sometimes. I shouldn't have to fight the aim assist as well as the other team when I play.
EDIT: Better yet, how about making it either optional OR making it stick to the target you're currently aiming at, instead of dragging away whenever a closer target intervenes? I think this is the solution. A fix.
That was all. Thank you. drops microphone

Edited by HyperVigiIant: 4/20/2017 9:07:17 AMWhy does my Icebreaker follow a player who runs/jumps across my targets body like it's getting pulled by a really strong magnet? Removing aim assist completely is a bad idea, though.

1 ReplyAm I the only one who doesn't feel this aim assist dragging

15 RepliesEdited by : ^ ): 4/16/2017 5:25:24 PMSeriously. It's annoying as f-ck sometimes. I really want to turn aim assist off. In Y1, I resorted to Efrideet's with ambush to get as little aim assist as possible and it was my favourite sniper of all time. I turned it off in Battlefield, and I want to turn it off now. I wish console players didn't need aim assist.

2 RepliesHaha. You should see aim assists on my hand cannons. It purpously makes me miss, against my will.

1 ReplyIt's like playing with GD magnets...

1 ReplyEdited by nbah3: 4/16/2017 6:57:49 PMYou legitimately lose a kill or die to aim assist what? Maybe once every 3-5 games? Meanwhile aim assist has got your back every other time. There's a chance D2 will have it optional because it's also on pc, but I suspect you won't keep it off for long if you're using a controller.
-
7 RepliesAim assist lol consoles need it due to players having poor accuracy and having crappy hardware like a controller doesn't help either. The only people who won't have to deal with aim assist in destiny 2 are PC players.
-
16 RepliesNo offence but you have a negative kd with aim assist.... turning it off will actually make it harder for you than it already is lol
-
5 RepliesRemoving aim assist just gives a superior advantage to mouse and keyboard users. I don't think it's a good idea on consoles. But I'm sure the pc version will have the option as mouse and keyboard are the standard.

14 RepliesBungie, please let's these kids turn off Aim Assist!! Lol Apparently people think they will be better with zero aim assist....obviously they have never tried killing their own teammates in Halo. You kids will turn it off for 10 seconds and the immediately turn it back on. Aim Assist is there for a reason. Without it...I'd be surprised if you'd even get one kill with your primary weapon.

8 RepliesYou don't want to play a console shooter without aim-assist.

Use a sword or rockets instead. Problem solved.

1 ReplyCompetitive subject to discussion. I honestly don't understand what is the purpose of this forum, I though it was to share an idea and if not good enough one would subject to a change regarding the persons issue and not just shut it down, or post something negative about it, please guys, if it's not a issue for you why even click on it just to input something negative about it, and option to shut off aim assist would be a great idea, if you don't like it, just shut it off. Or off for pvp and on for pve option.

Turning aim assist off isn't going to help that K/D

1 ReplyWhile i agree you with you. You just effectively complained about losing your streak that you only got from using heavy.

4 RepliesAuto aim is something I expect to see on the Nintoddler gimmicky trash tablet system, not Destiny. Please remove auto aim plebian casual kiddy crap.

5 RepliesHahaha maybe get a pos k/d first, you need all the help you can get 😂

4 RepliesHaha come on man you can't get rid of aim assist in a console game. Silly people these days | Jkeggy | 2.6 kd Trials Sherpa | | https://twitch.tv/Jkeggy |

It wouldn't hurt to have the feature, but it would be incredibly hard to get any kills at all on consoles. PC is a different story though.
-
I would like no aim assist, simply because having one enemy rip my aim off his teammate is ridiculous.......
-
if you turned off aim assist you would pretty much never ever hit a shot
-
62 RepliesI love how I pointed this out to you last time and you didn't respond there either. Console shooters need aim assist to function well. If you want to play without, load up Halo and spend the entire time trying to betray your team.

4 Repliespeople seem to not understand what "optional" means

10 RepliesConsole games need aim assist. If it is removed people will complain about how bad the gunplay is.
