I still don't understand this post. Are you complaining about kids not making money? I have 2 jobs and I'm 16. I make 10 and 9.50 an hour. One of the jobs gives me commission. I don't complain about kids without jobs. I have jobs in order to help my parents with bills and to cover my own expenses. Some kids don't need to have jobs. If I could focus purely on school I would. If I could have more fun over school breaks I would. But, we are all born in different positions. You can't judge kids based on their job experience, but you can judge them based on actions, personality, and economic class. Granted lower class children have gone through tougher situations and matured faster than most kids. Middle class kids grew up normally and matured normally. High class kids grew up slower and matured slower due to lack of problems. Age doesn't show maturity. I'm more mature than some 35 year olds. I know 30 year olds that are mature as some 10 year olds. It's all a matter of how they grew up and what they have gone through.

  • Your grasp of how children mature differently based on economics is incredibly insightful

  • Yeah. I've grew up in extreme poverty and around gangs and guns which matured me very fast. My mom got us out of there and now we are middle class. I've seen middle class kids who are as mature as one would expect. But then I see the higher class kids and wonder if I'm back in the 5th grade. Some are outliers so this doesn't apply to everyone.

  • Myself I grew up in a camper on the back of a pickup truck and winter time we used to get a space heater put a blanket over all of our feet and lay down in the circle shivering and singing songs and being happy that our feet were warm cuz it gets colder than negative 60 in Minnesota

  • Damn that sounds rough. Luckily I didn't have it as bad as you. I lived in Illinois and we only ever camped out in the car when it was warm
