Yes it worked for daughters but where it really shined was on Ogres, Light Eater Knights and Oryx because of the aura of invulnerability. That hasn't changed except for Ogres. The rest of the fight was always snipers and LMG's. Just because you can no longer get a buff from BoL doesn't mean ToM is no longer viable. To answer your question, yes, ToM works with AoL but you have to be mostly in the Defender Bubble to get the benefit of AoL. So you have to be creative with where you put the Defender Bubble. Over a rock or crate, for example, would allow you to stand on said obstacle and still be in the Bubble enough to get the benefits of AoL and out of it enough that you can damage enemies outside the Bubble.
