Does anyone know how to fix Xbox One controller drift?
I was just playing Destiny last night and it started drifting up pretty badly.
I've searched a few possible fixes but none of them work. Any ideas?
Edit: Thanks for the suggestions but I just went ahead and bought a new one.

1 ReplyHaving broken buttons and analog sticks while playing Dark Souls gets me killed a lot. One of my controllers has really bad upwards drift on RS, so I'm constantly looking at the sky while I'm fighting enemies. And on my other one, LB only works about half of the time, so I've had to get used to not blocking and not being able to use dual weilding weapons.

Did you drop it? This exact thing started happening to me after dropping my controller. It was not a high or violent drop at all, but supposedly the analog sticks on Xbox One controllers are kinda fragile if they take an impact at just the right angle. I looked up tutorials of how to take the controller apart and fix it, but decided it wasn't worth the effort and just bought a new one... and traded the broken one in at GameStop lol.

How much are you guys playing? I've had the same controllers for over 2 years now and it still even looks brand new. Only slight trouble I had was that the click on the RS started getting loud and grindy from playing DAI. Bought a 2nd white XB1S controller pretty much just because. I use them all the time. Like at least 2 hours per day. No drift.

I buy a new controller...it's happened twice lol [spoiler]money is irrelevant in the face of addiction ie: new controllers batteries guitar strings. ..weed booze hookers...[/spoiler]

Try a small spray of window cleaner...windex,generic brand ..on left thumbstick base..it worked for mine..All cod games have similar running controls..pushing in and up on left thumbstick is likely the cause.

I've burned up three in two years, all with left thumb drift. I keep buying a new controller. Last Time I bought 2.(half price sale after christmas)

Only thing I can think of is replacing the connecter under the stick which is a pull it apart job.
