No-one is actually upset that Skorri's can't be used the way it used to, people are just fed up that changes designed specifically for PvP situations are effecting PvE. Since most of them are nerfs, they end up effecting PvE in a negative way. I'm not siding with anybody on this issue, Skorri's was broken in trials and had to be changed, but should've been left alone in PvE, but again, let me reiterate this for clarity, Skorri's. Is not. The issue.
"Stop being crybabys" Uhmmm hello? Remember that part where your "crying" got shotguns nerfed four separate times? Oh no, you do remember, you just refuse to listen.
"Bungie wants to change up both metas" Who are you to say what Bungie wants? If Bungie intended to change the PvE meta then they would at least explain how the changes made for PvP's sake would effect PvE.
If someone could do a count of how many nerfs have been made for PvP's sake and the amount that were done for PvE's sake that'd be great.
So, why can't we all just come together and admit that this is completely stupid? Hopefully when Bungie built Destiny 2 into their new engine they separated PvP and PvE, otherwise it'll be the same problem all over again.
Edit: I just want to make extra sure that you understand that Skorri's isn't an issue, it's a symptom of an issue.

Edited by RingersCheckmate: 4/10/2017 6:06:11 PMIf people are going to say skorri's is useless, gutted, or absolutely trash now for PvE I'll tell them the insignificance of the change. If their point involves PvE being hurt by PvP, than they need to learn how to say that and not be an entitled three year old.

Remember how fusion rifles were nerfed like three times in a row while nobody was asking for it? Or the Hungering Blade change no one asked for? I sometimes wonder if people complaining is actually the cause.
-
Things no one asked about that Bungie needed: Truth Ammo Fusions Shotguns Universal Remote (Basically a shotgun but still included it.) Yet they can't nerf many things people ACTUALLY ask for. Pathetic.
-
People are also forgetting that bungie has actually separated pvp and pve buffs and nerfs before. Just requires a lot more coding work than just grand slam nerf an archetype into oblivion.
-
What about universal remote only holding 3 rounds now
-
No no no shotguns have been nerfed far more than 4 times
-
The only nerf that wasn't specifically for pvp was the ghorn nerf. Everyone else was specific to pvp when the extremely narrow minded and lazy developers didn't want to do extra work to split the base. Orginally, Destiny was a pve game where you could take your amazingly op guardian to pvp fights. Idiots that didn't do their research, who bought it for pvp ruined the games because they thought the game was made for them. They also did no pve activities and complained like babies because they didn't have any of the amazing pvp weapons that only dropped in PVE.
-
Pvp specific weapons and PVE specific weapons. Like have weapons meant specifically for use against minions of the darkness and then weapons used specifically for fellow guardians? I don't know I just feel like it be cooler that way Cayde-6: "Sorry guardian this weapon can't be used in the crucible, why don't we try something a little less...well deadly?" "Whoa you're trying to take that thing out to the field? Are you trying to get yourself killed? You won't even put a scratch on a Dreg let alone any elite. How about you switch to a REAL gun guardian?"

If players had used Skorri's the way it was designed and intended to be used, this post wouldn't even be here. But it's always Bungie's fault right? But no, it's not just Skorri's, it's many things that have been nerfed or redesigned simply because players don't understand a very simple concept, that just because you can do a thing, doesn't always mean you should. They chose to exploit, and so Bungie had to act on it.
-
Can't they like change the coding so that skorri's only works how it does now when you're in trials?
-
How about we remember how there was a time where artifacts didn't even exist? Sometimes you just have to roll with it and stop complaining. At some point we all have to realize that PvP and PvE both have to have their influences on the game and the sandbox? PvE is easy, and there's never been a PvP change that caused PvE to become significantly more difficult. I'm perfectly fine with changes happening for the sake of Crucible balance, it makes the game better as a whole.
If someone could do a count of how many nerfs have been made for PvP's sake and the amount that were done for PvE's sake that'd be great.
>Special ammo inventory nerf was made because Bungie said they didn't want the main strategy for every boss to be sniper spam. >Specific PvE buffs that have been reverted. (Ex. Shotgun vs minions of the darkness damage) >Gjallarhorn They CAN separate PvE and PvP, they've done that with some aspects in the past. It's obvious that Bungie doesn't want to. They think we're already OP in PvE and that small changes won't significantly affect our performance (which is true, but makes the endgame a lot less fun). In most other games, you're a god amongst the AI at max level/gear, but Bungie just likes having as many ways to limit us as they can.
-
Skorri's was broken in trials and had to be changed
No. Trials is broken and needs to be changed. Too many things in this game have to be change just because of one game mode. The answer is to change / remove the game mode not to continually change everything to suit that
-
I can tell you how many changes were made for pvp and pve. 2 nerfs were made because of pve (gjallarhorn and icebreaker) Everything else is because of pvp
-
It's a shame bungie can't diversify the coding between pve and PvP and because a lot of trial players complained we all have to endure the change. This just adds more proof that Bungie needs to seperate items, weapons, completely pvp to pve, not mingle the two at all. Evidence is what has been shown for the last year or better. Nerfs and so forth.
-
Hopefully enough data was compiled from one meta to the next to make a solid weapon balance in destiny 2.
-
I do consider Skorri to be an issue. Specifically for waiting around for raid encounters. The percentage of players who even play trials is microscopic compared to the number who raid.
-
We're Stormtroopers, we miss everything.
-
Because Crota is purple?
-
Why not have Skorri only affect PvE, like how Silimar only affects PvP?
The luckiest bunny you will ever meet
-
Why is the community fighting? I mean seriously, who cares what spawned the nerfs. It wasn't a group of people from either side. It was charts and graphs. So, blame bungie.

From memory: High RoF ammo capacity reduced to max of 999: PvE (I don't even) Auto rifle precision damage reduced: PvP (drastically reduced effectiveness in PvE) Shotguns prevented from having rangefinder and shot package: PvP Vex mytho brutalized: PvP Pocket infinity changed to pocket finite: PvP Massive stability/range nerf to auto rifles: PVP First Nerf to TLW/thorn sometime around here: PvP (more to come) Hand cannon range nerf: PvE Shotguns get a range nerf: PvP Fusions lose some stability and range: PvP Changes to performance bonus on fusions: PvE (why bungo? why!) More shotgun nerfs: PvP Nerfs to TLW/Thorn:PvP More fusion nerfs: PvP Field scout nerf: one small hit to PvP, and one massive cannonball to the gonads of PVE. Reducing the effectiveness of old perks: both. Gjally damage reduced: PvE Icebreaker recharge time increased: both More thorn/TLW nerfs: PvP Pulse rifle nerfs:PvP Shotgun nerfs:PvP Sniper ammo nerfs: both, but mostly PvE Hand cannon nerfs: PvP Hawkmoon nerfs: PvP Shot package removed from shotguns: PvP White nail perk changed: PvE Special ammo capacity reduced: PvP, but guess who got hit hardest? (PvE) Fusions nerfed again:PvP Ghost bullets:PvP Auto range and stability again: PvP Pulse stability: PvP And the recent changes And that's all I can remember. Feel free to fact check me with the change log since the beta and provide a more correct list.

I remember 1 buff that was for PvP in year one. They doubled shotgun damage because nobody was using them in PvP.
-
Wait is "PvE meta" a thing people say? Wtf is the meta for PvE?
-
Im sure glad i missed the point. Otherwise id have been poked and thatd have hurt

The only changes that should be separated between pve and pvp are ammo aconomy changes imo. So, back when they made snipers and shotguns hold less ammo - that should have been exclusive to pvp. On the other hand, when Thorn's burn damage was nerfed - I'm happy with that being for both. I agree with Bungie's reasoning for the lack of a separation - I don't want to unlock Thorn, use it on a strike, and think I have a godly weapon, then go into pvp and fail miserably. It would ruin the consistency of the game.
