The Queen is a lizard. Na seriously the monarchy needs to go.
-
Why should the monarchy go? They have no real power, and they rake in millions of pounds as a tourist attraction.
-
Yeah they have no real power, yet they are still given millions of pounds from the tax payer. And no, the family doesn't bring in the money, it's the buildings and heritage sites like Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle that people come to see.
-
Why do you think so many people visit those sites? Oh that's right, because we still have a monarchy that uses them.
-
I've heard British food sucks.
-
And you have Brexit!
Not sarcasm, glad you guys left that burning pile of trash known as the EU.
-
I'm American and I still appreciate this
-
Best spirits. You forgot we also have the best spirits in the world, thanks to Scotland!
-
British cuisine is bland gross boring blandness. And I hear the Queen is really into DP.
-
Wait. Bullshit. When has anyone called British cuisine terrific. It's good at best, with a few select dishes. But Italian, French, Mexican, those are cuisines that share massive popularity and praise worldwide. You don't see British restaurants for a reason. The most you'll see is an Americanized plate of fish and Chips.
Wait. Bullshit. When has anyone called British cuisine terrific.
I did, just now, m8. *gets in face*
-
Someone needs a culinary tour to see how wrong they are.
-
I like pretty much most food put in front of me so long as it doesn't have mustard, olives or soy sauce in it, or isn't too hot. But honestly, sometimes I just want a great big heart attack on a plate, and you won't find a better heart attack than bacon, eggs, sausages, black pudding, baked beans, mushrooms, fried bread, hash browns, half a tomato, a ton of mushrooms and a steaming mug of tea to wash it down.
-
Insufficient to prove British food is Badass. Also, biscuits and gravy is clearly superior for a savory breakfast.
-
*hurk*
-
Clearly not when you can't even call a biscuit a biscuit.
-
Clearly, when you call a biscuit a cookie and delicious bread of the gods a biscuit.
Ftfy
-
Your 'bread of the gods' is called a scone, FYI. Scones are meant for tea time with clotted cream and jam. If you want a scone for breakfast you'll have to be content with a muffin - which actually tastes a whole lot better especially with scrambled eggs - or maybe a hot crumpet with butter and marmite.
-
Yup. Have to agree. But not the marmite. Me no likey marmite (._. )
-
You're a monster.
-
You're a barbarian. A savage.
-
Stargazy Pie and jellies eels. Clearly you're the savages. We came up with the double down: meat and cheese between two pieces of fried chicken breast in the ultimate sandwich. Is it good for you? No. Is it a genius innovation on the sandwich, yes.
-
cheese
You might call that monstrosity 'cheese' buddy, but I don't think it's quite the same as what the rest of the world would call it.
-
America has made some pretty good processed cheeses. Traditional American is meh to ok depending on its use. But Missouri has this processed cheese called Provel that is delicious, creamy, buttery and makes a one of a kind pizza. I just wish I could get it easily here in NC.
