Warlock Vog Boot Ornament

I'm going to try and make this short and sweet. EDIT: I tried, but clearly failed. To me, the cosmetic aspect of my gear is tantamount to the functionality of it. The new raid gear and ornaments are great, however I have one issue. The first ornament on the Vog boots for the Warlock do not change with shader. Yes, the part that is actually pants do, however the badass robo-limbs do not. They stay a blue-ish hue with a rectangular-camo-esque design. As thrilled as I am with the unique design for the ornament, the fact that it isn't affected by shades is a serious issue for me. If it was just a shade of blue, it'd be a little better, but the camo pattern makes it even worse for me. Yes, this is is somewhat silly issue, and yes, this is not an issue for everyone. However, I believe that it'd be beneficial to everyone if the boots did mesh rather than not. Granted, some people like the blue and/or camo, however, that can be replicated with some of the several blue shaders. Making it a permanent color/pattern closes pretty much all other color/pattern options if you'd like your gear to match. I don't think anything will come of this post, besides maybe a few like-minded people responding in agreement, or the exact opposite. However, I think it'd be great if it was changed to be affected by shaders. Usually this is only a change made to exotics, but I think an exception should be made in this case. Most other gear that has a small pattern or color that doesn't mesh with shaders (i.e. the red trim on the WoTM chest piece for Warlocks) and is relatively simple to match with, especially since they are small cosmetic differences to the gear. These leggings however have about 90% of the piece in one unchanging design. This bothers me as not only do I like that pattern, but I'd much prefer my armor in a green, black, or maybe even a silver/white (I'm looking at you Stolen Chalice.) As well as the fact that this is raid gear. Raid gear is, pretty much, the pinnacle of ones loadout, usually both cosmetically and functionally. I can already hear in my head the responses saying "USE ANOTHER PAIR OF BOOTS DIPWAD!" or "CHANGE TO THE OTHER ORNAMENT OR DON'T USE ONE AT ALL YOU JACK WAGON!" However, the simple response is, I don't want to. The design for this ornament is not only extremely unique, but these boots have great perks and stats. These are the ideal boots for me, and I will probably use them sometimes with certain gear/shaders, however the fact that they don't change with shaders reeeeeeeeeaaally bugs me. I'd love to use them all the time but the unchanging pattern kills me. Anyway, not expecting Bungie to move mountains for the cosmetic troubles of one guardian, but I do think it'd be much better for the majority of Warlocks if we could choose to recolor the pants to our liking rather than being locked in on the one design. Just a thought, reply if you give a crap. TL;DR One of the ornaments for the Warlock boots from the Vault of Glass isn't affected by shaders. Cosmetics are important to me and it bugs me that one of the coolest boot designs I've seen are locked to a certain color and pattern. Not expecting them to, but it'd be great if Bungie could make it affected by shaders.

  • I agree, as soon as I finished the raid I had 3 armor pieces, I went with the legs and class item to ornament. I noticed that under preview the metal didn't change colors, I thought it was just with preview but afterwards it stayed that blue pattern color. It would be great if it changed colors as well just like titan and hunter ornamented armor does.

  • None of the "armored areas" for the 1st warlock ornaments take shaders, which is especially noticable on the class item AND HELMET.

  • I completely agree. I noticed this right away when my friends and I started changing our shaders with the new VOG ornament armor sets and it turns out the the Warlock's metal armor parts don't change with the respective shader that is equipped.

  • Not to be a downer but chances of that happening before D2 is pretty low, look at how long it took them for some of the exotic armors. Hopefully it does though...
