My thoughts on why he doesn't want to be alone with other women or around alcohol without his wife is probably because he wants to protect himself. He's a man in a public position and in a position of power. There are people who try to take advantage of that, and will purposely try to catch those people in compromising positions, so he takes proactive steps to minimize that by having his wife around. I don't believe it's because he can't control himself, but because he has respect for his wife, his marriage, and himself. I can see why some people wanna poke fun at him for it, but to look down on him and try to paint him in a bad light for this is pretty pathetic.
