The vaults are all linked so I assume if one goes theyre all gone? Except that doesnt make sense

Think about it like this..... all our gear is stored in a room somewhere in the tower... and the multiple vault terminals are just a way for us guardians to pick what we need outta storage and the vault terminal transmats from the tower into our inventory

i like logic and all but i like the idea of cabal running around with bombs blowing up mountains and giant broken ships called the reef

Yeah I was thinking along the same lines, what about felwinters peak? I stored plenty of gear in that vault too lol.

How did my guardians lose their stuff? Were they naked, drunk and streaking through the city

no they decided to wipe everything out besides the cabal (notice how little attention they got in game) went to have a age of triumph. somehow killed all the bosses again or might just be having some flashbacks all while their drunk then woke up to the whole world going to hell end ran out into the woods quite literally with their pants down.

I am guessing the Iron temple ended up burning down then as well.
