Will Destiny 2 on Xbox be able to Xbox Play Anywhere? I really want to get it for pc but my friends are gonna get it for console and I don't mind getting it for both. I just want to know if I can get it for one to play on both.

Sony having an agreement for PS timed content has nothing to do with Play Anywhere. D2 has been announced for Windows PC. There is no reason a Sony contract for timed content should have any bearing on a Windows PC player being able to carry on their game on XB1 or vice versa. In fact, it makes very little sense that someone could not play the same character across XB1 and Windows PC. Also, Xbox Play Anywhere titles are not only Xbox exclusives. Resident Evil 7 is a Play Anywhere title and is also available on PS4.

I want to buy it for Xbox One, but not if I have to buy it again for the Xbox One X. Might buy it on disc so I can resell it on ebay. Play anywhere would alleviate this issue.

1 ReplyI really hope they do make is play anywhere, it will certainly make it much more likely for me to buy it. That was I can play it on my PC when the kids have taken over the X-Box to play Roblox

Alot of people are pointing towards the Playstation Exclusivity and contract with Sony. I just wanted to point out that contract ends just before Destiny 2 is released. Microsoft likely has the power in this situation because of the move towards PC - perhaps they will get the exclusive content in the second game. Just something to think about; I hope it gets Play Anywhere capability but I won't be surprised if it doesn't.

I sure hope so. I dont want to get it for PC but If I'm forced to play Destiny 2 in 30fps while PC is unlocked I'll definitely be going to PC.

4 RepliesNo. Xbox play anywhere is for Xbox exclusives

Activision has a deal with Sony. Microsoft does not. Anyway, one console with this game is 1 too many!

1 ReplyI would really like to be able to play on both Xbox and PC using only 1 account.

1 ReplyAbsolutely not. As stated, this would damage the playstation favoritism.

2 RepliesDoubtful... "The best experience is on Playstation." Not being mean, but Activision has a contract with Sony. I doubt that XBox will have Play Anywhere because of it.
