Hmmm..
I got the Husk today (2 of them so far) and my first Quest step I had to do was kill Knights with it. And you can only kill plain knights, not majors or ultras, just normal ones or it does not count them.
I know in year 1, I had to kill Thralls for the start, but this time it's Knights.

Maybe its based off what it dropped off initially?

Nope, mine didn't drop from a Thrall, but luckily that's what I had to kill.
