How to upgrade your PS4's space?

I'm want to upgrade my PS4's space, I'm looking for a cheap and good option. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/seagate-1tb-expansion-portable-hard-drive-sgex1000pt?cm_mmc=google-_-pla-_-Portable%20Hard%20Drives-_-SGEX1000PT&cm_mmca1=NULL&cm_mmca3=conversion&cm_mmca9=columbus&CAWELAID=620015440001180108&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=34435309358&CATCI=pla-55733401733&catargetid=620015440002665561&cadevice=t&gclid=Cj0KEQjwk-jGBRCbxoPLld_bp-IBEiQAgJaftYdzkhJtO_-F2rfbZolE8GsZJyDHz1bHjjVYMYcvUigaAh_p8P8HAQ Sorry for the long link. But would that be a suitable hard drive for my PlayStation, thanks.

  • You can use an external hard drive now. Just connect it through the usb (directly, no usb hubs). Has to be usb 3.0. Best way to tell is if the usb has blue plastic where the prongs are. You have to format the drive. Have been doing this since the update enabling it dropped, and it works fine

  • I installed a 2TB sea gate HD into mine. For some reason, at the time the PS4 didn't recognize any HD above 2TB. Used a NYKO data bank and it has worked great ever since.

  • 4gb Seagate is like 100 bucks.

  • You can buy a 2 TB HDD for about 100 to 130$, or cheaper if you wait for a sale at Best Buy(they change their deals weekly so check every Sunday)

    • I recommend a 4-5TB Seagate external hard drive like this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ZTRXFBA/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1490796941&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=4tb+external+hard+drive&dpPl=1&dpID=31D6-C4d5NL&ref=plSrch

    • Not worth upgrading to 1tb. Go for 2 or 3

    • I'd go 2tb. That's what I had in my ps4 and then got the pro.

      • I don't know if they are compatible with the PS4, but I have a 4TB My Book external USB HDD for my Xbox. Works great and they are fairly reasonably priced.

        • It doesn't show the price. The hard drive is also external. An internal hard drive seems more convenient.
