I feel as though everything about the entire trilogy makes it the best or at least one of the best series for gaming in a while, do you agree/disagree?

Is this a joke? You can't be serious.
-
Maybe the difficulty. I played DS3, but it's just not for me.
-
Because it is beaten by Call of Duty.
-
Dark souls is one of my favourite games along all time. Can't say the same for 2 and 3 though.

1 ReplyJust read an article that the dark souls series is done....for now 😒
-
It depends greatly on each person... I loved Bloodborne because of its difficulty. But others were put off by the game for the exact same reason. Same can be said about Dark Souls Also, it has its own way of story telling which isn't as clear as something like the Witcher 3. So people don't regard it as highly

3 RepliesNothing can be called "the best game ever". If you enjoy it, then that's good. If you find the need to try to convince others, you might not be enjoying it as much as you think.

9 RepliesBecause, as someone who used to have never played one before, the fanbase looked hostile and more toxic than the #pvp forums

4 RepliesI tried Souls, I seriously can't get around the difficulty. Yeah, yeah "git gud." But I just think there shouldn't be a boss that's as hard for a complete newcomer as early as it is in Dark Souls 3. It's already bad enough that I think the game is clunky AF.

Who said it isn't?

1 ReplyI think what is underestimated about the series is it's difficulty alone isn't what makes it great. In fact when the first Souls game was developed, difficulty as a selling point was never a selling point. The developers just wanted to make a very enjoyable RPG. The reason it's successful is because the combat is so nicely balanced and rewarding when winning each encounter. You feel as though you earned your wins without any stupid tactics. You are never left hopeless. The game also doesn't hold your hand but guides you in a very organic way. The world building and atmosphere is so perfectly done as well. The story itself is nearly non existent. But the world you're in has so many stories to tell in the various environments and you're left to put the clues together yourself or come up with your own interpretation of what happened. This is what makes the Souls games unique.

3 RepliesI am not enjoying it. I picked up 2, and I want to learn the game, as I usually play online games which are more about aim than reaction/movement and strategy. But, I understand you learn as you fail, however losing your max HP with each death making learning harder each time just makes me pissed and I just play another game. I really want to learn the game, I do =\

8 RepliesBecause not everyone enjoys crappie games made just for the point of being hard, but are actually really easy, and it just is slower cause u have 2 roll constantly with no real fighting I'd prefer mass effect or witcher or final fantasy XV or many many other games over that shit
-
It just hasn't beaten any of the current world records that other past games have made in the past few years, even GTA 5 beat a bunch of world records to date back on release date.

What?

1 ReplySouls series is decent at best It relies on the same logic every other game used by default Die Learn the encounter Repeat on next difficult challenge PvP has never been balanced all that well Lore is all speculation with very few things being truly confirmed Even vaatvivyda states this numerous times in his lore videos Much of the lore is found in item texts Yet many games do that and so much more Witcher 3 has more written content than the entire souls series combined Overall a decent send off to the series but I hope whatever game they put out next has more substance

38 RepliesI've honestly only played dark souls 1 and some of bloodbourne. So here are my issues with the games. +++there are times in the games where the developers don't understand the difference between difficult and unfair. If I have to cheese my way through certain portions then that's unfair. +++How come enemies that are only wearing a loin cloth take more damage than I do? How is that fair? +++how come an enemy with a worn out stick can deal more damage than my starting weapons? How is that fair? +++why tf is the "story" so abstract? Why not just make a really good story but make the history abstract like every other game? +++how come there isn't a background on most enemies? I would think it'd be pretty interesting to find out why some random enemy turns into a wet sack of thigh fat and regret. +++why tf can ghosts hit me but i can't hit them? Are they tangible or not? +++I shouldn't have to constantly ask myself, "why am I even doing this?" +++what's the point of creating your own character if they are just gonna be in armor the whole time? +++why does my character feel the need to murder innocent creatures? +++why in tf do I have to sprint before I jump? And why is my jump delayed? +++for a game that has a ton of weapon variety, most of those weapons are used the exact same way. What's the point if have an axe vs a sword if they essentially swing the same way? That's -blam!-ing boring. +++where did these creatures come from? +++how about instead of using the environment to kill us, why don't you just make the enemies more diverse? It would be great if I was locked into battle with some skilled enemies as opposed to getting hit with an arrow and falling off a ledge. +++how come most enemies can swing through my attacks but if I stub my toe I flinch? I know it's related to a stat but that's still pretty ridiculous. Isnt the game supposed to be fair? +++why do I have to summon companions? It's obvious some if the npcs can fight. Why don't they join me? Most of them even seem aware that my character is important. +++why would you put an enemy that I can't kill in front of the way I need to go? And then you just expect me to know that I need to run by this thing and come back to it. How does that make sense? +++how come I can block greatswords no problem but I slide back 29 feet when I get hit with and arrow those big knights use? +++why are all of these bosses just sitting around?

3 RepliesBecause opinions are subjective.
-
Bloodborne imho
-
Eh, as a series, I'd say no. Personally, Ds1 and Bloodborne are up there. But you know. Opinions and such.
-
Mass Effect. All the way.
-
I find them to be terribly boring no real story very repetitive combat but I see why people enjoy them but not for me
-
Because halo exists
