Upgrade from PS3 to PS4 for Age of Triumph?
So I am still on PS3 with TTK, I am intrigued by the Age of Triumph, specifically the return of the old raids which I never really played while they were relevant in year 1. But not sure if that alone is worth it.
What would I even need to upgrade? Do I have to rebuy Destiny and also get a PS4 + Rise of Iron + PS Plus subscription? I do wonder if I need Rise of Iron expansion to the updated year 1 raids? I am guessing so?
While I have the itch for new Destiny armor, my rational mind is thinking that's not worth it. I have no interest in Rise of Iron content specifically, having seen a lot of it on youtube.
I am considering a PS4 anyway to possibly play Destiny 2, but I might play a PC version instead. So do I really need a $229 (for refurbished) PS4? Just to play VOG again?
And don't tell me I can play that today on PS3, nobody is playing VOG on PS3, a LFG post will go for days without being filled (should have had match-making by now).

It surely depends on if you truly want to play the Age of Triumph, or not. Personally I would say a new console is always worth it. The PlayStation 4 has a ton of new functions, and many other games you may acquire in due time. So the actual question is, is buying Destiny worth it? As you've mentioned, yes, you would need Rise of Iron to play the Age of Triumph Content. If you were to move from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4, you would have to repurchase The Taken King too. However, all of that is included in Destiny - The Collection. And PS Plus is required to play any multiplayer game on PlayStation 4. Ask yourself, do you [i]really[/i] want to play Age of Triumph? Or do you think you could use that money somewhere else? Of course you can wait until later into Age of Triumph.
