I guess I'm just dense because I don't really understand why the new adept weapons are such a bad thing?
We're getting some of our most favored weapons back from the abyss that is Year One but for some reason the new system being used to give us back our elemental primaries is being hated on by a lot of people on Bnet. I don't understand, ever since Year Two began people have been wanting a solar and void companion to the Zhalo Supercell but now all of a sudden it's a bad thing that we're getting just that and more.
I'm not trying to be harsh and criticize people for this, so if I come off that way I'm sorry. I just want to know why people are hating on this so much.
Edit: Grammar and Spelling(I rushed this a little)
Edit 2: Leaping Leopards Batman I didn't expect this to take off.
Edit 3: I've been reading through all of your posts and I seem to have an understanding of it now. It seems that people are just genuinely upset that they can't run their old generic loadout from Year 1 ex: Fatebringer, Black Hammer and Gjally. I can see why that is disappointing but I also see the potential for new loadouts to be crafted from this. Fatebringer is still getting a legendary varient so it will still be one of the better weapons for VoG, the same rule applies to VoC.

11 RepliesWhy are they complaining? Because they're entitled millennials. Impossible children. Either that, or they're completely stuck in the past and can't pull their heads out of their asses.
-
It sounds good to me, I'm looking forward to playing VoG and crota again to get some of the exotic drops hopefully.
-
I like it.. it gives you real load out decisions.
-
Their just giving feed back and sharing their opinion.....
-
1 ReplyIam personally not hating on it, but I dont understand why they decided to go with the "exotic" version change. It is their decission and still better then getting nothing I would say... If it was up to me I would be like "f*ck it guys... D2 is around the corner so let them have all the sh*t they loved in Y1-2". Especially when knowing that NO guns or armor is comming over to D2.
-
1 ReplyI think it's more of a case of players who don't or can't do challenge modes getting annoyed as the adept only drop from those specific events.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Brick: 3/23/2017 1:11:23 AMIt's crazy to me (and probably 90% of you out there) that my go to load outs from Y1 are now fully Exotic. Fatebringer/Vision Black Hammer Gjally

Its not that im not happy with it but bungie never explained the problem of legendary elemental primarys other than certain herioc strikes theres not a big advantage but thats my thoughts love the game regardless
-
3 RepliesBecause children. That's why. Entitled children at that. It's not their game, it's Bungie's game. Get off the forums and delete Destiny if you're so "done" with it. For those of us who enjoy the game, we'll be enjoying our FREE content before Destiny 2.

I don't even know sir, I personally love the new system of only exotics have elemental damage. I think this s new update is gonna be a lot of grinding.
-
Supercell is the only elemental primary right now (that is updated) and it's an exotic. Bungie is bringing back all the old elemental primaries as exotics because isn't an elemental primary supposed to be unique and dominant? Legendary is kinda meh people
-
As with every human society, there is always a subgroup that complains about what you think is great. Different opinions are completely normal.
-
They will use up an exotic slot, but the only thing 'exotic' about them will be the elemental damage. The three existing elemental exotic primaries all have their own exotic perk in addition to the damage type.
-
6 RepliesYou see I have one question: Why use an exotic Anguish of Drystan if I can just use Zhalo? Hm? With no exotic perk, Zhalo is the best auto rifle. Seeing as how Arc shields only apply to three enemies in the game: Fallen Captains, Taken Minotaurs in IC, and Taken Centurions. Only one of those ever show up in a raid. Captains you use heavy on in WOTM. Arc burn was not what made Fatebringer and Fang of Ir Yut good. The perks were. There is now no reason to use an Exotic any of these over Gjally in CE, or DD in WOTM. And that's the problem. Bungie never gives a shit about PvE. But the one time they do is when we have fun. Think about this. We are more powerful in year 1, then in Y2 and Y3 combined. If you went back in time, and told them they were going to lose their Elemental primaries, they would protest. If you went back in time and took something like ToM away from KF, nothing would really happen. No damage would be lost. No power would be gone. You'd just use a sniper or heavy. Elemental Primaries would have little to no effect now, since most scenarios they aren't useful. Arc Burn weeks only have 2x damage increase. Match Game can be avoided with a Heavy, since it deals enough damage to get through the shield. Once again, Bungie fails to see how the past is affecting the future. Bungie claimed that they wanted to keep the old raids sacred. But by doing this, the raids will never be as good as they once were.

Edited by GrundleBeans: 3/23/2017 7:28:43 AMI think it was the right move by Bungie. Elemental primaries were kind of a problem to begin with, even if everyone loved them. Originally nobody would use other weapons than a handful from raids, which is not good when you make a game that has like 60 primaries to choose from. It makes the majority completely obsolete. At the time, Bungie basically had to respond with tougher enemies to counter the advantages a little, followed by nixing elemental primaries altogether to allow variety to creep back in. Except they failed again by only giving certain TTK weapons certain perks and advantages, which defeated the purpose of trying to make choices diverse. So now, making the elemental primary choices abundant but also exotic forces people to be more mindful of what weapons they choose overall. No Gjallarhorn + VoC or Fatebringer combos. You gotta choose which you think is more worth using and at what time. And the fact that we even have that choice now is better than what we've had the last year and a half. We will never have back that feeling of being OP, and rightfully so, because being OP at everything is boring and lacking diversity.

Because nostalgia i guess, old glory and what not. It is kinda annoying to keep hearing people say "oh i cant use hammer, gally and fate combo anymore! Update sucks!" People survived this long with just having zalo as the only elemental option for primaries and is an exotic, adding more for the trio of elements shouldn't be a bad thing. But hey, this fanbase has to always complain about something.

I just want to know why people are hating on this so much.
Don't apologize, people on b.net are being childish. They probably are like 12yrso mentaly and or irl. I don't know how in the world people though bungie wouldn't make those weapons exotic or completely remove the burn. Its mind blowing, I will see you all on the 28th happily playing, and I'll see you in court.
-
PvE is so easy already. Why care?
-
How will the exotic fatebringer be better than the Zhalo? I can't see myself using it over Zhalo in any situation outside of nostalgia trips
-
Edited by moobz: 3/23/2017 12:42:59 AMBecause this is the bungie forum, where nerfing cry babie teenagers reside, where the "i want it now and without having to play the game" mentality dominates, where complaining is the only thing that is ever done, the place where even the developers have stop focusing on because nothing constructive or usable is ever posted........i could go on but i'm sure you understand by now where i'm getting at!
-
11 RepliesAs long as they don't have ridiculously low drop rates I'm fine.
-
They definitely made the right call, I'm very happy about it.
-
I don't see the problem either only primary exotics should of had burns in the first place not legendarys
-
5 RepliesEdited by Silence: 3/23/2017 1:55:48 AMWhy would I waste my exotic slot for a Fatebringer when it could be a legendary and I could use a ghjallarhorn and a Fatebringer. But I guess it won't matter since its returning. Ok I'll try it :)
-
2 RepliesEdited by chickengoujohn93: 3/23/2017 2:35:47 AMBecause there will be those who live and die by Elemental Damage and will use it over the most important/better Exotics in the Raids particularly the Boss loadouts. Templar - Black Spindle, Sleeper, Gjallarhorn Atheon - Black Spindle, Sleeper, Gjallarhorn Ir Yut - Exotic Swords, Gjallarhorn Crota - Gjallarhorn Warpriest - Black Spindle Golgoroth - Black Spindle Daughters - Touch of Malice Oryx - Touch of Malice, Sleeper Simulant Vosik - Exotic Swords, Gjallarhorn Aksis - Dark Drinker, maybe Raze Lighter
-
2 RepliesI'm just happy to finally get a Fatebringer.
