Wait...no more ammo crates, the special ammo just automatically spawns in your ammo reserves?
Interesting...

What???? special crates will act like heavys after the update. you hold square and then your gun is automatically reloaded.

No...

There are still ammo crates, you just don't have to reload when you pick up ammo. Side arms get rid of any extra ammo you have on death and give you one full magazine on respawn.
-
No, when you pick up a crate it's going to auto load your weapon like it does with heavy

Special ammo crates will now(as of the patch) act just like heavy crates. When you pick them up they automatically load you weapon instead of having to manually load them like you do currently. Edited by eaglex72: 3/22/2017 6:58:16 PMGot you. My mistake. Thank you. As a sidearm user (since before the patch) I like the change in ammo for sidearms. I only use the sidearm as a back up self defense tool anyway, and this will make other players hopefully use them in that way too, because that is really what they were meant to be.

Were they meant to be like that? 3 years later?

Just my opinion. Special ammo drops were in longer intervals before the most recent update. And sidearms go through ammo so fast that it just didn't seem like running sidearms as a primary would work. With the latest update the special ammo drops are every 60 seconds so they are very frequent. And with aidearm ammo carrying over to respawn it was easy to hoard ammo. In the upcoming update sidearms will only have one magazine on respawn, rather than having full ammo reserve of 140+ rounds. Having only one magazine may stop players from using sidearms as a primary and bum rushing the opposition. Again, I only ever use sidearms as a back up self defense weapon. So having only one magazine at times won't be an issue. In theory this change should help fix the issue.

No problem. I've only ever been any good with fusions and occasionally sidearms, but hopefully sidearm usage backs off a little with the loss of stacking ammo after death.
