Jim Sterling just can't seem to catch a break now can he?
First he got caught up in a long drawn out feud with the now defunct devs Digital Homicide over his critique of The Slaughtering Grounds. Now some fans of Nintendo's latest Zelda game are up in arms over his review score of that game.
Jim's review of TLOZ: BOTW ended in a score of 7/10, which seems to be a respectable score, right.
Not according to some Zelda fans, who have not only dDOSed Jim's website, TheJimquisition.com, but have also made death threats against him. All because of a review score they feel is unfair.
Jim released a video on his YT channel which you should go check out.
Nevermind the fact that he said repeatedly in his video that he liked the game.
Note: As of this posting Jim's site is down due to the ddos attacks.

It's funny that they got that butt hurt over it.

9 RepliesIf you got a 70% grade on a final exam/project that you've been working on for the past 5 years, I'm pretty sure more than a few people would be pissed.

It has sold 1.3 mil copies so far. And 89% of people who bought the switch bought botw. It's doing good but it's not doing that good. It's getting destroyed in sales by other games

2 RepliesOkay? Let them be mad. Who cares?

5 RepliesUsually I feel sorry for these people who get ddos'd but it's Jim Sterling. A pretentious prick who gets view by trashing on already shit content and acts like a smug tool because he knows he can get away with it.

Jim Sterling just can't seem to catch a break now can he?
If this thread is any indication, yes he can catch a break. He's made himself out to be the most infamous reviewer on the internet. Whether you agree with him doesn't matter, because you still click his links and give him advertising dollars. Whether he is purposefully trying to anger the fanbase also doesn't matter, because the fanbase will be angry either way. What should matter to you is whether you find his reviews helpful.

8 RepliesYou'd have to rate some really amazing games at like 4-5/10 in order to justify a BOTW 7/10. Game's got some flaws however it's easily the best game released in maybe a decade or more.
-
4 RepliesI mean, shitty frame rate drops and the Master Sword has a meter that has to charge in order to use it? That's two points off right there.

13 RepliesHe's a genius. #horizongoty

4 RepliesEdited by Gustav: 3/16/2017 9:43:31 AMI feel like the standard for a game being 10/10 is very low these days 10/10 implies that a game is 100% flawless, and I don't trust sites that give alot of 10/10's (like IGN) Just because you like a game doesn't mean it is perfect. A good example of this is skyrim, which tbh is probably a 6/10 but still extremely enjoyable. Same goes for Horizon, of which the reviews seem to be based on hype and bias. I already made a post about why I hate the game so I won't go into detail here.

I hate how the common thought in media now is that a review is a summary of what the fan base thinks of the game rather than an objective, personal opinion. If you don't align with that, you get ripped to shreds by mindless dregs. It's completely unfair to people like Jim Sterling, who make a living off of reviewing video games. Part of the reason why I believe reviews are useless. Investigate if you're interested, but don't use the opinions of others as your own.

2 RepliesSome people just see anything other than a perfect score as a personal insult. He did a pretty good response video to this.

13 RepliesNot sure whose worse destiny or Nintendo fanboys.

I'm not too far through it yet, but it's an 8/10 for me. It's a wonderful game and I can see the score going up as I continue, but it will not be a 10/10. They experimented a lot and did a lot of things super well, but not everything.

1 ReplyNintendo fans in general are pretty bad

They damage control over anyone's opinion

1 ReplyThey think taking his site down is hurting him. Jokes on them though, the sites unmonetized.

And people say the Nintendo Community is the best out there...

Goes to show you that as much as some nintendo fans like to pretend like they are better than the rest, they really are no different at all.

14 RepliesThank God for Jim!

3 RepliesI mean, slant magazine rated the game 6/10.
