Destiny II vs Horzon Zero Dawn.

Hello Guardians Since the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn I haven't touched Destiny. Now I know what you must be thinking...But let me reassure you that I am not a Destiny hating player. In fact I love this game to bits. I am by a long stretch an average gamer. I play games to chill out and relax. By Destiny's standards I am a dirty casual. But I have an opinion and one I would like to share in light of the recent game Guerrilla has released. You might also think, that it is foolish of me to compare the two as they are completely different playing styles. Let me reassure you once again I am by no means at all comparing the two. I am merely making a case for the good things I saw in HZD(Horizon Zero Dawn) and then I be making a case for what I believe could make Destiny II a great game in the likes of reputation that Bungie is capable of releasing. One of the very first things that I noticed were the graphics. Man HZD looks amazing. The detail in that game is unlike anything I have ever seen. When say said open world we were all on the edge as if we haven't heard that one before but wow HZD take first prize in this category. Secondly there was a substantial story. As each of the main quests unfolded it pulled in. You just had to know more and each was a cliff hanger to the next. Then there were the weapons, extremely interesting concept. Primitive bow and arrows versus high-tech machines that are designed and equipped to wipe you out. It is necessary for me to mention here that HZD doesn't have a PvP side. But guess what...You have elemental primaries. And may I add the primaries were not weak. In fact they only got better. Lastly lets talk side quests and loot. HZD nailed this. There is enough replay ability with all the side quest that the 46h it takes to rush through the game to finish it will drag out easily for solo players like me in to three months. The loot system was good. Merchants were everywhere. It was refreshing to be able to travel and shop from merchants for what I needed and wanted instead of a solitary hub. Now taking the story of Destiny in to consideration. With all the lore and back story behind each and every alien race Vanilla Destiny felt weak and under whelming. There was no wow factor and this is where I want to start with as a player what I hope Destiny II will offer us. -Enough with the one liners: Those cut scenes with very little information...I don't ever want to see that again. I want depth and intrigue. I want to know more about the collapse and how it happened and the people that survived. I want to go on to explore "ruins" and discover secrets of the past. Rasputin would have been a really good theme here. In-between we can learn about the Fallen and so forth etc. (I am almost certain that Destiny II will have some of our old foe if not more and new ones) -Incorporation: I want to be able to visit settlements on planets and maps on the earth. Each with their own unique merchants based on the available resources on the planet. From here side quests can flow abundantly. So much so that weekly resets with story threads would easily be possible. -Variety: One of the things that never made sense to me in vanilla Destiny was how we had so very few weapons to discover from our past. Essentially we had a few great weapons that didn't tell us much about their origins and our fragmented past. Going on discoveries about the weapons would have been so much more exciting. Also in the first few missions... one thing that was missing was crafting. How convenient was it that we discovered the Kvostof rifle that is our first gun. Why could we choose to fashion a bow and arrow or something in the likes of that slowly progress towards finding parts to build weapons. For an MMO like Destiny...crafting was a major lack. What in the end killed my passion for the current state of Destiny wasn't the lack of the above but the fact that with all the nerfs the weapons were so weak that I was doing strikes and I was using six different weapons to try and cope with the onslaught of same level enemies. Weapons were easily nerfed to accommodate PvP (I play PvP btw...) but the enemies in the PvE side remained the same. Weak primaries did it for me in the end where I literally couldn't find the joy of playing anymore. Destiny II needs to have primaries that pack a punch. I want a gun that can one shot kill a Minotaur or a Fallen Captain. Should I earn said gun...hell yes. But I want it and I don't want it nerfed. This brings to mind the effort it took to get Bolean Gemini and the great big disappointment of using said gun. I never in my life dismantled a scout rifle more quickly then that piece of trash. Destiny II has to have primaries that pack a punch!!! And the inventory needs to be a lot bigger. I am talking hundreds of guns...The weapon pool in vanilla Destiny were to weak all the way through to the RoI. We should have had by now...hundreds of different exotics. No player should have had the same load out. Variety should have been that no one player could be predicted to have the same load out. Now you might say: That is impossible!! Is it?? Listen to this, Rolls Royce has over 40 000 colours to chose from their cars. A standard model will cost a buyer £ 250 000. But the cars are built to order and custom made with an average price tag of over £500 000. So much so that today no Rolls Royce looks, feels or drives the same as any other one. Rolls Royce discovered the secrets of variety combined with quality. On the day when the cars are collected by obviously the rich and famous the owner is given a Michelin star meal and grand tour of the factory in South Hapmton England UK. (I know this because the plumbing business I run installed new FCU(Fan coil Units) in the wear house facilities. ) That's my two cents guardians. Happy hunting!!!
