Completely turned this game around in year 2. So much new content, story started to kick off, awesome music, gear, weapons, raid, well written and relevant subclasses.
Make it happen in Destiny 2 Bungo
Mara Sov or riot
Structurally, it is the best. But House of Wolves made EVERYTHING relevant, EVERYTHING had a place. The story was twice as structured as TDB and Vanilla's and had characters that were fun (because Cayde was depressed during the Vanilla days). Granted, TTK had the better story and characters, but this is where it started. That, and the House of Wolves themselves have a huge spot in my heart.

Edited by Haunter: 3/13/2017 9:18:18 PMHoW was All activities relevant All gear upgradeable to max Pvp meta was great (cannons, pulses, scouts) Rollable = matches not dependant on who's shotty rolled aggressive Some of the hardest pve content at the time
-
Nah. I preferred House of Wolves. Ascending gear made all raids relevant while rerolling gave players motivation to get weapons with good rolls without excessively annoying amounts of grinding. Primary weapons were potent and no gear was left behind. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than what we're going through now.

TTK was epic. for all you talking about the grind. rerolling lit took all of the point of playing this game. Grinding for gear, which is why i still play so much. it really isn't bad because i catch myself having fun while tracking down gauntlets that have handcannon reloader or ll 400 boots. the reason you think the grind is awful is because you can't have fun unless you win which is stupid because in life even if you win most of the time now. there will be a time which you loose most of the time. so maybe you just haven't lost enough to still know how to have fun while loosing. either way your negativity on the forums hasn't changed much because bungie understands enough not to change most of what you are calling for. but some of your stupid ideas made it through. you need to learn in life that A. We do not live in a democracy, (Yes that includes the USA) so if you are in the majority, chances are, you will still not get what you want through. B. TTK brought some of the best changes to destiny we have. (taken are annoying but challenges are fun.) C. you will loose in life, more than you will win. so get used to it and forget what you want and think on what others want. D. The most recent sandbox update was the worst. Warlock melee? really come on!

Edited by REVIVE PHARMER: 3/12/2017 7:38:38 AMThey removed Elemental Primaries, removed rerolling weapons, and made everyone re-grind for their Exotics. TTK was the WORST expansion. Easily.
And Luke Smith is still an Asshat.
Nope HoW was. Ttk bored the piss out of me with never ending quests for dumb shit. Probably deleted every quest it offered to me. The raid was garbage and thats all pve had to do.
-
1 ReplyIkr it got a 9.1 on ign

The only good things added in TTK were a good story and quality of life improvements. Otherwise, HoW was easily the best Destiny DLC. 2 raids and 1 horde survival mode for endgame PvE Iron Banner and ToO for endgame PvP A fair gear ascension system that made all gear across all time periods in Destiny relevant Almost all primaries were viable except for auto rifles Exotics that felt unique and powerful Endgame weapons and armor had a clear advantage over vendor gear, as they should HoW was the best time for Destiny's endgame, which is where games like this are meant to be played and excel at. TTK ruined the endgame and replayability.
-
HoW was dope indeed but I think TK had the better story and content. Book of Sorrows is hands down the best lore besides TLW/Thorn saga. It's clear when Bungie actually listens to the community great content can happen even two years after the launch, instead of hey nerf everything into the ground, or play like WE say you should play.
-
House of Wolves, back when Bungie gave a damn about pve players as much as pvp.
-
Edited by BigTexB007: 3/11/2017 7:45:43 AMNah man. HoW. 3 relevant PVE end game activities with 2 PVP. A real gear ascension system. All gear was relevant. PVP meta that included more diversity than the HORRIBLE Y2 sniper meta. Hands down the best age of Destiny. Edit: And Taken along completely ruined Nightfalls

6 RepliesIn my opinion, HoW was the best.
In my opinion
Actually, I feel like HOW was the best dlc or time period in destiny. Ok, maybe not best dlc but definitely the best era. All activities were relevant and no gear was left behind. Unfortunately it also brought us trials, which I feel like was a mistake and took destiny down the wrong path. But that's just my opinion
-
Nope it was house of wolves hands down
-
Maybe but y1 was the best year of destiny

1 ReplyNow, The Taken King was absolutely amazing! What would have made it better, would be if they hadn't made everything else in the game obsolete. Glad they're bringing it back. RoI was SEVERELY lacking compared to what TTK had. Also, it's way too easy to get to 400. TTK had a grind before the april update. It was sometimes a pain getting loot below your light, but I remember the absolute joy of passing 300 light without much raiding. It was hard! If you saw someone at 320, that was a rare sight. I miss the days when not everyone ever was max level.

Raid weapons where trash though
-
The only thing that let it down was the raid loot, the primarys were mostly garbage.
-
pros- good story, 3 strikes, large raid (perhaps too large), lots of new loot to collect, reworking of a lot of bad systems from year 1, new subclasses. cons- still no real effort to add replayability, hours and hours of possible content made irrelevant, good fundamentals from year 1 left behind, MASSIVE amounts of loot left behind and forced to be deleted, 2.0 sandbox update began the watering down of every gun ever, SBMM was introduced, dedicated players were forced to rebuy everything if they wanted what they originally payed for and it was overpriced even without that factor, levelling system had good intentions but ended up being a mindless and pointless grind #forever319, trials of Osiris began to dictate the game and reached new levels of toxicity, all the new guns that were introduced were shadows of the loot in year 1, oh and yes it was mostly reskinned. Then again, still miles better than TDB or ROI...
-
For the first 3 months, yes. After that... oohhhhhh... oh no... HoW had the most content, even if most of it was redlined.
-
Ttk raid/missions had a creepy vibe. Almost like playing original dooms the first time xD
-
Yeah, taken king was good. Thats what i call an expansion, every dlc should be like that.

1 word, Cayde-6

1 ReplyEdited by PapaSubpar: 3/11/2017 5:54:58 AMThis is true, but the Taken are the worst enemies in the game. I am so effing sick of Taken. I want to kill a Dolphin and a Whale with a harpoon gun every time I see a blight form in a strike. -blam!-a you Whale and -blam!-a You Dolphin!
