You call it being lazy...
you forgot greed! the raids didn't needed to be left behind in the first place! but could have been updated by light and loot already everytime, when implementing new light levels! as it's not like the content was given for free and what makes it even more bad, not to forget, the time ppl invested to grind for stuff, made worthless by leaving old paid content behind, what NO MONEY can compensate! and as said, don't forget greed! as it wasn't laziness alone, but greed too that made them decide to leave stuff behind, as Bungie proved to be more happy by earning money, rather than spend! as the tons of recycled content, reskins, copy and pastes and a shady eververse RNG business model proves! personally, i don't call them only lazy, but being a bunch of greedy scumbagst too! and when thinking about what this game could be hurts even more...as it's like a giant ruled by incapable, greedy dwarfs!

By the by, the point of each DLC is take on the end game content corresponding with it via reaching max level/light. VoG, you reach level 30 though 29 for most for the purpose of defeating Atheon. Croats End, you reach level 32 for the purpose of defeating Crota, not Atheon. Skolas, you reach level 34 for the purpose of defeating Skolas, not Atheon or Crota. Kings Fall, you reach level 40 light level 320/335 pending on time frame for the purpose of defeating Oryx, not Atheon, Crota and or Skolas. WotM, you reach light level 400 for the purpose of defeating Aksis, not Atheon, Crota, Oryx and or Skolas. So why exactly would they give you end game content and rewards for the previous end game content if they are intending for you to play the new end game content... it wouldn't have made any sense to do that.

Yeah man, totally. I thought this game was made to give us some enjoyment, yet here they are CHARGING MONEY for their time and effort. Screw those guys that work day in and day out on this game. Screw those people that try to keep up with these forums in order to bring the dev team your ideas and implement them in an upcoming patch. Screw those guys who are trying to balance the weapons, yet can't get their math right! Oh wait..... they (Bungie) ARE here to make money, and pay their employees, while making a game that you OBVIOUSLY enjoy (which is why you are still here complaining in this forum). There are very few companies out there that don't charge for their DLC, and Eververse's micro-transactions are not forced on you, they are optional. Maybe next time think about the things you are purchasing and the fact that they just might NOT move forward to the next iteration. And, for the record, I don't TOTALLY disagree with you. I have paid for things that I thought would move forward. Had Bungie been a little more forthright with the information that this wasn't going to be the case, then maybe I would have made a different decision. So, part of the onus is on Bungie for not being more vocal about this early on. I just have to think that they weren't sure at the time.

  • @octopus i wasn't calling names, just pointing out that you are not forced to do buy stuff. It is an option, and going forward you should approach it as if it will go away at the end of Destiny 2's cycle. I guess I have just gotten used to dealing with this in games like COD, where this is exactly how it is. You can buy silver, or whatever the currency is and then RNG spin to get a loot crate with crap in it. Interesting factoid; If you live in Japan, there is no such thing as Destiny silver. Something about how that is considered online gambling due to the RNG aspect of what you get, is outlawed in Japan.

  • ... And yet, here you are on the forums, you paid real money, are more than likely still playing. Why? If it is all about greed, it is too little, too late, why even -blam!-ing bother?

  • Ok. That is legit. I do get it. Like I said, I have felt burned by patches in the past, like us all. But at what point do you stop complaining and just enjoy the game you have put countless hours into? All that hope, change, whatever, for me, is reserved for D2. Lord only knows how many mistakes, premature changes, rollbacks, there have been in D1. Time to get things put together better in D2.

Octopus, you say the raids didn't need to be left behind. If VOG remained relevant all this time would you play it week in week out after three years? You might come back for nostalgia purposes but you would've collected all the gear from the raids and therefore playing it would be worthless other than for fun and after three years it wouldn't be as fun. In my opinion if raids were brought forward all the time we wouldn't be playing it anyway because of the same repetitive stuff. Look at WOTM the numbers on lfg are dying at the moment, even though that is relevant. The same would've happened with VOG and we would all find something else to complain about. This was just a comment in relation to your raid statement. What you say about greed I don't have a view either way.

  • you made a good point and definitely interesting...well, i don't know, it maybe could have become repetitive...but isn't everything in this game already repetitive? i simply believe that by having brought the raids forward every year there would have been more choices, more ways to entertain oneself by doing activities...so far, as i see it, there was never enough content and never enough to do and having more options would have been fine...i mean, at some point, by playing only one raid, you have all loot available of it, so why do ppl still play? there are many reasons...personally, i do for grinding stuff with high light level to infuse on different items...WotM f.e. i had everything very early, but still kept playing it for max light gear....so, if there would have been 2-3 more raids, wouldn't it be cool to have the options to farm other raids too just for max light stuff? i think so...and i would do...if enough ppl would think the same and if enough would populate the raids to get full fireteams is another question and one i can't answer...but bungie didn't even tried... also, to bring back old content now, at the end of the game's lifespan is another thing and to me, worst they could have done...so, beside the above matter, the way they do now is in no way any good and even more terrible, as so late ppl will think twice about playing with all stuff becoming obsolete soon...however, the decision made so late is just terrible! about the greed...as you didn't got into it, i guess i'll leave it now that way...as it wouldn't make sense to discuss now about it..as to those who understood what i mean, know what i was about to say and get the point... however, thx for your add, was indeed an interesting thought

  • Variety would be nice and yes everything in the game is repetitive. To be honest if they brought forward the raids i would've infused 400 gear into my VOG gear especially if I had been farming for the last two years and got the perfect stat roll on my armour pieces rather than do the raids again. Greed is an interesting point I guess big businesses are always trying to find ways to take our money. For me I'm happy with the money I've spent on bungie. Would I like more from the game, of course I would. I figure I've spent 200 dollars all up and judging by my hours it's money well spent. Spent 100 dollars on COD and probably played that for less than one day.

  • How is it greedy? I haven't seen any indication that they're going to charge for this. Think about what we got with TDB and HOW. That wasn't a ripoff then, and TTK and ROI shipped with far more content, for a reasonable price.

They made the raids obsolete to force you to buy the next DLC.

  • So, does WoW update everything to maximum level every time an expansion comes out? Or do they leave areas they way they were and only they newer content gets maxed?
This isn't bait. I legit don't know as I stopped playing MMORPGs in the early 00s when Everquest was still a thing.
• Other mmo's do not bring old raids up to the current ilevel. However, wow and ffxiv have a glamor system in place where people still run old raids just to get armor pieces to glamor their characters with that piece of armor. It would of made more sense for them to do that over the course of the game's lifespan than this tbh. Now it seems like they ran out of ideas and leaving this as the final update before it becomes obsolete.

  • It works just for character appearance instead of ilevel/lightlevels. You keep the same stats but your gear looks different.
