Should Destiny 2 be rated "M"?

Since this hasn't been discussed in a while, I thought it should be brought up again. Would the game series benefit from a more mature setting?

  • I'd love Destiny to be rated M. Nothing wrong with T, but I feel like an M rating definitely allows more liberties in graphics, language, content, etc. that in all adds to a better story.

    • It's too late now (I think) for them to decide d2 will be rated T for sure and that sucks because more little kids will be on it but I think d3 should be focused majorly on an engaging story with badass characters that should be rated M because T ratings take away from engaging storylines for people that are 16-18 years or older imo

      • I have nothing against mature titles, but I do not think it is needed.

      • Makes no difference as too many parents don't read the age ratting on games and buy them for kids. So as long as it has a good story (this time) who cares what the game gets.

Yes it would weed out the squeaker s and you could make a more complicated and engaging story

        • Hrmmm.... If its to tell a better story of battles and of the struggle sure. Remember guys Halo is rated M and all it basically has is violence and language. That's it.

        • I feel like destiny's place has never been in the general area of unnecessary gore or sex scenes or really anything that would make it M. Even the darkest storylines can be told with a different amount of detail and still get the gist across with inferences over direct explicit scenes. It's a story of space magic.

          • I feel like this series doesn't really have the setting for M-rated content. Guardians having sex? Hive exploding in a pile of blood? Doesn't really make sense to me.

            • Definitely, but Activision prefers a general audience, more money in the piggy.

            • And have good ole Activison miss out on an oil tanker sized chunk of money? Nah not gonna happen, would be nice though...

            • No as the squeekers mums and dads will still buy it for them.

            • I personally would not like to see an M rating with destiny. I, and quite a few people I have met, started in Y1 playing with our kids. I would be disappointed if the content was such that I could not continue the destiny journey with them. I do think the T for teens tag could still deliver good adult content as well. But that is just my opinion.

            • No. It would detract from the game to add m-rated content. It would really be unnecessary, plus I wouldn't be able to play in front of my 1- and 3-yos.

              • As per the Activision/Bungie contract, all Destiny games are to be rated 'T'.

                • I think the writers and developers should just do the best they can to create an overall awesome game with as compelling a story as possible. Let the game be rated whatever the esrb decides it should be and don't let 'rating' play a part in the games development.
