Why the hell do people care about emblems
They dont anything theres nothing special about them and they are easy to get.

3 RepliesIt relates back to day one, beta players and such. They have emblems no one else has which carries in their minds status. Kind of like what bungie will likely do with destiny 2 giving us "veteran" players an emblem, shader or something for the status symbol in the new game. In other words really nothing.

5 RepliesSome emblems aren't obtainable anymore. They state that you were here before anyone else. It's a way to state your dominance or be a special snowflake & make others jealous.

4 RepliesLet me offer you a question, why should I have to grind for shaders that I've already owned again? Why should I have to see that blank Emblem from D1 that I grinder my ass off for is being sold at Eververse for $1.99? How pissed would you be when they put Revenant, Chatterwhite, Glowhoo, etc. into the game and you have to grind potential WEEKS to regain access to them? (Yes, I know Chatterwhite and Glowhoo probably didn't take weeks, I'm talking a quest in D2 could take weeks). How about how vets are constantly kicked in the balls with no proper reward for being vets? Sorry, a dog tag and scope for my revolver aren't good enough rewards for spending $400+ dollars to be able to stay up to date on a rapidly deteriorating game. I don't criticize this game because I hate it, I loved this game but I hate being kicked in the balls for the sake of "freshly starting." Not having obsolete gear my ass, Bungie. 3 RepliesThe real problem is... It shouldn't be "ok" for a corporation to be unethical. If they make a commitment to deliver something to their paying customers then they should, period. This is the problem that we have today that is rampant ...NO ETHICAL CAPITALISM... "Greed is God", "Doing the right thing" is dying. It has corrupted everything from simple products like this; to the politicians that make decisions that run the world. What bothers me most is that we as a people have just accepted it as the "norm" like you are seeing with people on these forums. It's just an "in your face FU" that we are all to happy to thank them for, because we either lack ETHICS ourselves or COURAGE to stand up to it. For this reason alone, no matter how great D1 has been or how great D2 has been, I will no longer be a Bungie or Activision customer, because the "grind" or "regrind" didn't bother me... it is a matter of Ethics. Sad Times

I have some of the oldest and rarest emblems and you'd have to be pretty sad and deluded to think some other random player sees it and thinks wow, so cool. It's just pathetic really when you think about it.

Well TBH I can kind of see why. They show what you've done in the game. But at the Dawning of a new game. A new story. A new universe..well maybe not a completely new universe. But there's going to be so much crap to do in D2... People will absolutely forget about anything D1 related. Most people. There's always that one who wants the fatebringer...again.
