All I Want is my Emblems in D2
After reading today's post by bungie I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the news. Most not all guardians don't really care what their characters look like at this point but most if not all would have loved to see their favorite and/or exclusive emblems and shaders get carried over. This news today made me feel that after 2+ years of grinding was for nothing. Love the game just wish they would revisit that idea down the road.

You play them for a year or two until a new one comes out and nothing carries over stop getting butthurt over things you should have expected, do you think people play the likes of COD for a year then the next one comes out and they expect their levels/weapons carry over? I agree shaders and emblems should transfer especially payed/exclusive ones but come on it's a new game with a new start (kind of) otherwise it's really just a large DLC. I'd rather start fresh than to start off practically OP

I want all my emblems and shaders my 3 characters. I want all new weapons and armor. The exotic weapons should return they're a part of the story. Along with a ton of new weapons.

4 RepliesOk guys, they specifically said veteran players will be rewarded for their accomplishments. Im sure youll get special items for doing things. We dont even know what our inventory, character screen, etc will look like! We might not even have those kinds of emblems or shaders anymore! New game, new beginnings!

Also why does everyone have the "all my play time means nothing now" mindset? It's not like your items not transferring over erased all the moments you've had with this game from existence.

Who cares about our characters?! Because of the lack of a customization engine (AFTER THREE YEARS) most of us have already restarted characters just to change their hair or race or gender... either that or we've given up completely on remaking a character. SO STUPID. NO ONE CARES ABOUT THEIR GUARDIAN CARRYING OVER IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FUN TO REMAKE THEM IN THE NEW GAME BUT INSTEAD WE LEAVE BEHIND WHAT WE ACTUALLY WORKED FOR AND THE MEMENTOS THAT SPARK OUR MEMORIES?!? Since we left last gen consoles behind, D2 should have better graphics. I don't mind losing shaders. My hope is that the new gear in D2 is better and more customizable...meaning that D1 shaders aren't compatible. Ships would be nice...the only slight obstacle being they'll have to remake them with better detail because of the improved graphics. But emotes, grimore, and emblems should definitely carry over.

14 RepliesIt wasn't for NOTHING lol. By the time Destiny 2 comes out, we will have had and played Destiny for around THREE YEARS. All that grinding was for the THREE years the game has/will have been out lol

Here's what happened. One of the Bunghole devs said "how do they see their character names, where do they go" Another one said, what are you talking about, their gamer tags are their character names, like before. The other one said, well we have a problem then because these new guardians will have the same names, and the old ones aren't being carried over to D2, but will have the same names.... So their solution was to carry over the least amount as possible, which is just a shell of the current characters with the same gamer tag attached, no ships, emblems, etc. Just the look. In other words, nothing changed, your character is still not being carried over. Expect to start a brand new character.

Do away with shaders. Give us the ability to fully customize our armor color schemes like so many games do.

if a microtransaction was added to bring each D1 emblem you wanted over to D2, they'd be all over it.

Just bring completely cosmetic items, such as emblems and shaders into D2. I would say ships, but I hope they completely reinvent how ships work and have space battles and ships with power and weapons

11 RepliesPeople who don't care about their characters face are just ashamed about what they created and wear helmets on 24/7 in the Tower and reef. Fact. You can't deny it. Those who were careless in Year 1 on how they made their characters regretted it and went to asking Bungie to making helmet option viable for the Tower, reef and Lighthouse. So hopefully you guys who made apparently horrendous Guardians can get a second chance lol.

Bungie not allowing us to carry our gear forward definitely makes it less likely that I'll be getting Destiny 2.

17 RepliesOur emblems are representative of our *unique* accomplishments. Not everyone did Moments or Triumph Year 1. Not everyone did Aksis hard challenge. Not everyone went to the lighthouse. For Moments of Triumph specifically, Bungie encouraged us work hard for our emblems by saying that only Year 1 players would have that story to tell when showing off the MoT emblem to future guardians. Not much to show off if the game is sunsetting and emblems don't carry over through one's Destiny journey.

You do know that outside of Trials and the raids that emblems are pointless right? Most are bought at vendors and literally mean nothing.

All I want in D2 is Regional Dedicated Host Servers for ALL ACTIVITIES (Patrol, Strikes, Raids, Crucible, Iron Banner, ToO, and SLR at a minimum). This 2008ish Halo Peer to Peer one console can host crap is beyond broken for a AAA Title. I am so done with having one or more red bar player when playing Crucible, Strikes or Raids and the game become a fecal storm of strobing enemies, unkillable enemies and the game just not working right (i.e. platform not forming, doors closed don't register, slamming platforms not registering etc. etc.). Unless BungleVision grows Desticles and has Regional Dedicated Host Servers for destiny 2, I will not buy it. And I strongly urge all of you to make this issue a condition of you buying D2 and telling BungelVision so. Unless we force the issue, BungleVison will serve up content up using same broken infrastructure in D2 as they did in D1.
