After reading today's post by bungie I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the news. Most not all guardians don't really care what their characters look like at this point but most if not all would have loved to see their favorite and/or exclusive emblems and shaders get carried over. This news today made me feel that after 2+ years of grinding was for nothing. Love the game just wish they would revisit that idea down the road.

All those blank screens are the Destiny Twitch channels going dark....
-
The only things i care about to transfer over are the moments of triumph emblems, challenge emblems, Wolf hunter emblem and bungie store emblems. Things that show that you were there, and got things done.
-
I'll take my Laurea Prima emblem... as well as everything that was meant to be in the original game.
-
Silver would be nice to keep.
-
Only shaders I want to keep is sunsetting and chaterwhite.
-
Emblems AND emotes not transferring is complete -insert expletive- . Emblems are simply a graphic and we earned those some of which have become increasingly rare as the user base has narrowed over the years. Emotes people paid real money for not transferring is either lazy or a cash grab maybe both. The lie was the micro tranactions were going to fund live team events. Those never really were what they told us they would be and even included even more micro tranactions within the live events. TLDR: Bungie continues to show a lack of respect for their customers time and monetary investment in their product.

EMBLEMS AND SHADERS!
-
They will be putting brand new ones in gambling boxes.

whats even worse is i doubt you'll be able to play this game once the server goes offline in a year or so from now. this game is effectively dead when it's dead. it's not like games of old where you save file kept your progress. this game doesn't. so people will eventually lose their hard earned money. i play my rpg's and i can look back and play them later, i can't help but to say that even destiny one wont live to see the lifespan of other games once its sequel come out for those who still want to play destiny 1. want to see sunk cost in an rpg look at destiny after today's news.

1 ReplyI'm sure we will be able to get the exact same emblems again. Poe, raids and the same quests will be in destiny 2 just like they are in destiny 1 Basically destiny two is a reset on your inventory
-
3 RepliesYour emblems and shaders will be re-obtainable in D2 buy purchasing cosmetic "treasure" packs from eververse
-
2 RepliesMaybe I've missed some games. I don't recall ever playing a sequel and having my stuff carry over. Maybe some little trinket in a new game because I played the last one.
-
2 RepliesI take pride in my legacy emblems. I've literally received money offers to link my account to them for the emblems. C'mon Bungie. :/
-
Have any of you sweaty emblem and shader hoarders ever realized that the ENTIRE emblem and shader systems may not even exist in Destiny 2? And maybe that was the reason why you can't keep them. Or maybe they changed the emblem system so that you can make your own like it is in For Honor. My point being this is the first official information from Bungie that Destiny 2 even exists, so therefore stop deciding what you want in a game before it even comes out. Or even releases a trailer.

2 RepliesI don't mind starting completely over, that's fine. But being able to keep only our faces just feels like a slap in the face. I hope we get the choice of editing those faces if we don't want our old ones. Emotes that we spent money on would have been a nice thing to bring forward though.

Grimoire too

The grinding wasn't for nothing, the grinding was so you could enjoy Destiny; not Destiny 2. Honestly, I don't want old emblems taking up space. I mean maybe let everyone choose their favorite emblem and shader. One of each to bring with them, but I think that would be too much work and not worth it.

Destiny became extremely convoluted over these 3 years. I'm glad they recognized that the initial plan of items carrying forward was merely a dream. Hopefully the sequel has better mechanics and weapon/ability power is better tested, then they might consider revisiting that plan. If not, oh well. The possibility of money items not carrying over in sequels always made me shy away from spending real cash on in-game markets.
-
Dump! Why can't the items found in their respective kiosk move to D2?
-
Yeah, agreed. Keep our achievements alive!
-
I really don't think they should leave vanity items and emotes behind. They have no effect on gameplay. At least, if they do leave them behind, don't make us earn/buy them again. Give them to us for free or give us completely new ones only.
-
The best part is the fact that back in y1 they said all of our stuff would be with us forever in the destiny universe but now they are going back on that and keeping only the faces which nobody cares about. I'm happy I have reason to grind all over again but all of my favorite emblems are exclusive to an event or time like the one I use as my b.net avatar
-
Please, I loved the way emblems worked in destiny I'm proud of the few I have and I would be happy if I even got to keep them and my shaders
-
I know this point has already been made, but Destiny 2 is a new game. Why would you want anything to carry over regardless if you paid for it or not? That's like saying weapon skins should carry over from CoD because you paid for the DLC. Just say no. I spent some money on Eververse, but I figured going into it that it was for Destiny, not a sequel. Get over yourselves

Bump!

11 RepliesEdited by MyStiC KN1GhT: 3/3/2017 6:51:26 PMThe same goes for most games. You play them for a year or two until a new one comes out and nothing carries over stop getting butthurt over things you should have expected, do you think people play the likes of COD for a year then the next one comes out and they expect their levels/weapons carry over? I agree shaders and emblems should transfer especially payed/exclusive ones but come on it's a new game with a new start (kind of) otherwise it's really just a large DLC. I'd rather start fresh than to start off practically OP
