Power, emotes and LL will NOT carry over to Destiny 2
However, if you had reach level 20 and finished The Heart of the Black Garden mission, your character WILL carry over however everything else will not.
Are you guys happy with this? I am. (Kinda)

Didn't work, finished lvl 20 and completed the heat of the black garden, any ideas of why it hasnt carried over?

The only thing that pissed me off is the emotes, people payed to get emotes (not me) and it doesn't even transfer?

2 RepliesSo in theory, I could delete all three characters that I've had since Year 1, delete every piece of equipment stored in my vault, delete all the shaders, delete all but the class starter emblems, once I get the first ship and sparrow - delete all the other ships and sparrows, delete all my consumables (at least the ones we're able to delete, delete the 5Kish motes, 3Kish Strange coins, all of my planet material and as long as I get to level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission - I'm able to carry over how my 'new' character looks? Sign me up.. /s

If nothing but the look of our characters carries over, there is zero difference between that and just creating new characters. With one bold stroke, Bungie has reneged on their last (and one of their foundational) promises: That our characters are ours and will follow us through the ten-year life of the game. Instead of "Become Legend," we are now "Become Irrelevant". There is [b][i][u]zero[/u][/i][/b] reason to grind for more gear at this point. I am deeply, [u]profoundly[/u] disappointed in Bungie.

18 RepliesNo, I'm not. To start the series they said they planned on carrying shit over. That was a promise that enticed a lot of players to join the community. Not carrying over is going to drive off a lot of players, myself included.

1 ReplyBy Bungie bringing our characters into D2, there will be no new races, no new classes, no new appearance options and no voice customization. It is turned into a copy and paste CoD game with tons of pay-to-win microtransactions. Thank you PVP elitists and Activi$ion for ruining Destiny.

After reading this topic and seeing all the upset people: lmao it's pathetic. It's a new game with your old character. You [b]do not[/b] need old gear in destiny 2. Play it for what it is, or don't but I guarantee that all these "I'm done" crybabies will buy destiny 2. The people crying for nerfs in destiny 1 was bad enough but this....this is far worse. Either play it or dont, but please, stop -blam!-in bitching.

The emotes, Emblems, the stuff we got as a reward for either donating to a good cause (Nepal, ect... Emblem) or Emblems that show how long we've been playing the game (Revenant, Old Guard, MOT). Sure they said they'd be giving vets emblems and what not but it'd still be nice to keep this stuff as a memento of Destiny and carry it over in D2. Other than that I'm anxious to get started on D2!!

I have no problem I would have had no problem if the characters didn't carry over The restrictions on character level and completing the initial story are probably just so they don't waste their time importing accounts that were barely played

We also plan to award those veteran accounts with honors that reflect your Destiny 1 accomplishments. " My GUARDIAN is, for example, the Male Human Hunter. I will be carrying my GUARDIAN forward. The rest, the weapons, armor, emblems, shaders etc is NOT my GUARDIAN. I am more than happy with the decision. Have a nice day buddy.

I'm happy with it. At least this confirms that the story will still follow our guardian. I wanted that at least to be to case. They can still keep of the "become legend" bit this way.
