Sunsingers have the best Neutral game, coolest grenades and some of the most awesome abilities ever. Why is it not the Main Warlock class? Radiance. Radiance is weak. The only reason people consider using Sunsinger is not just for its Neutral, but it's Self-Revive. Why is it not used even MORE due to how good it sounds now?
Because you are still very easy to kill when Radiance is Activated.
I will build a scenario...
Crucible. Clash. Icarus. Teams Neck and Neck. 10 more kills for one team and it's over. Your teammates and you are backed against a wall, and the enemies know it. Your team runs at the very sight of a single hunter, enemies follow closely behind him. Of course, you die first, and your Radiance can be activated. It's activated, you respawn... Shotgun, Snipers and Anything that has ammo rain down on you in an INSTANT. Then everyone dies the end.
...
So why did I build that scenario? Well, I needed to get a point across. The point is that they are EASY TO KILL. Sunsinger's Radiance should get a large defense buff when activated, even when Self-Reviving. This prevents a single shotgun from taking down a Sunsinger, or ONE shot from a sniper to kill you.
I propose that either a Large defense buff, Strong Overshield or short immunity to attacks to make the Sunsinger's Radiance something to Fear. I also believe that Sunsingers should get a small Weapon Damage buff in PVE when using Radiance. If there is a need to Counter-Balance this, Sunsingers should be much more Visible (such as glowing brighter, bigger wings or something along those lines) Slowing down grenade recharge time a bit, or Removing the ability to Gain an Overshield mid-Radiance.
Thank you for your time. Please give me any sort of Feedback if you agree or disagree.

Yeah, their super is and always has been garbage for PvP. When you die the enemy still gets the points for it regardless of whether or not you revive, and even in gametypes like Trials that are based on having teammates left alive there's like a 90% chance that you'll just OHK'd by a shotgun/sniper, and even if you don't it's still just a +1 for your team compared to most supers, which can potentially wipe out everybody on a team.

I play Sunsinger a lot and haven't used self-res for about 18 months. The subclass is not weak and neither is Radiance.
-
Meh, I prefer storm caller or at least void walker :P
-
1 ReplyYou can't one shot self res in rift, you do nine damage with a gun that should do 194. Self res doesn't need a buff the melee and nades need one. Besides fusions obviously
-
I still think firebolts are more usefull that fusions
-
Sunsingers went from being one of the worst subclasses in the game to one of the best in trials just because bungie doesn't like to actually balance things properly
-
9 RepliesYou have to remember that Sunsinger has basically been BROKEN by a series of nerfs that took it from one of the strongest warlock classes to far-and-away the weakest. Radiance is a weak super because it was necessary to balance a class that----in Year One---had a very powerful neutral game, as well as a number of abilities that made them very durable in CQC engagements. But---in an effort to quell complaints from Trials players who "grew frustrated" in dealing with teams of stacked Sunsingers.......all of those abilities got nerfed. Flame Shield got nerfed. Radiance got shortened and the number of grenades it could produce reduced. Then the duration of Radiance from Fireborn was reduced. Viking Funeral was nerfed. Then the final straw, Firebolt grenades were broken. All that is needed to restore Sunsingers is to undo this excessive nerfing. Especially the nerf to Firebolts.

5 RepliesThose posts make me think how many players know that you can use super when you are alive and gain a shield 🤔
Just use radiant skin you can even tank a shadow shot
-
Scorch melee: nerfed, self res radiance duration: nerfed, fire-bolt grenade: nerfed, Viking funeral: nerfed. What the f**k man. I rock fusion nades anyways, but that was about every useful thing in a Sunsingers arsenal that made it a class to be feared, now it's a joke. I've mained a Sunsinger since launch and I will continue to do my best with one but it is a very hard class to do well in pvp now.

It's not the most used class because people like diversity, after a few hundred hours praising the sun you should take a breath and try out other builds
-
1 ReplyBecause I want to be a Sith Lord and shoot lightning out of my fingers.
-
Sunsinger is awesome. I'm a Sunsinger main. Once, I self res and the whole team was around me and I got the team wipe. My team was removed from the game world, it was only me and two other people against a team of six. I use firebolt btw.
-
To get some confusion out of the way, in PVP I do use Radiant Skin and PVE Fireborn.
-
3 RepliesStop reviving in front of enemies. Problem solved.
-
Right now radiant skin is very powerful. Im surprised more players arent using that without shotgun counters and fusion nades are crazy powerful right now.
-
20 RepliesBecause when ppl read nerf they think the class is unplayable. Most ppl have this issue. They dont TRY stuff out.
-
8 RepliesPeople stop using sunsinger mainly because firebolt and Viking funeral were nerfed. No more instakills means no fun to most players
-
If you're using Fireborn instead of Radiant Skin, you're singing to the sun incorrectly.
-
Scrubs use fireborn in pvp, skilled sunsingers use radiant skin

1 ReplyI have put a lot of time into all 3 warlock subclasses and I can honestly say its because it is a class built around using grenades as a super and the grenades feel like crap touch of flame and viking funeral combined with solar grenades don't even get kills 90 percent of the time and fusion grenades are a laughing stalk now that said sun singers still make amazing tanks in pve activities but it just doesn't feel like I'm using a super when I'm a sun singer and I found myself sitting on my super all day even when I wasn't using self res
-
2 RepliesSolar Grenades. Sunbreaker Gauntlets. Song of Flame. ToF + VF. Watch the world burn.
-
1 ReplyAlthough I think sunsinger is an ok subclass, I don't find the super that useful especially if you have memory of felwinter.
-
I think it's my fave warlock sub class
-
I use it for pve every now ans again. But i don't for pvp. For me its the lack of killing another super with ease. I can one shot melee some. But most im dead at range.

11 RepliesThey could give Sunsingers the ability to burn targets just by being in close proximity during Radiance. You are on fire afterall.
