Wrath of the machine, unlock hard mode
I made a new character, very easy for me to make it a 400 light level. Do I realy have to complete the raid on Norma first before I have the option to select hard mode myself if I want to start up a group? Right now I can only join other people if I wanna do hard mode

Yea joining a hardmode raid group gives you access to it. However if you wanted to do it with players who are new you couldn't because hardmode is not unlock... why skip normal? Its not hard also hardmode is basically the same as normal. Just a spiderwalker, siva ray gun and a few things are different in the first boss lol
