They did test the weapons!

The live team did test the weapons no matter what you say but you know what they tested? Exactly what we saw, 1 guy stands there are shots the other guy and they go "yay" or "nay" they need to let us test these patches because we clearly don't play like them. Instead of waiting around for special ammo like they did, everyone rushes in and has no time to wait for special so they need a sidearm. The live team doesn't consider how we will use them, they consider if it kills in an "equal" manner, and their version of equal as you can clearly see is different from ours

  • Incorrect. 1. Your assessment suggests anyone watching the stream saw everything that went into the making of the patch. Reality is the stream was only a demo. Reality is that like any other production, the air time is but a fraction of the production time. Like most other changes that are handed down that nobody ever saw coming.....they were no doubt based upon stats/spread sheets, and played/tuned before they were released. Usually, as in this case, it shines a bright light on those believing they know game mechanics vs. reality. For argument sake, what if Bungie did what many here have clamored for and had top tier players give input on the new patch? What if Bungie then shared that information? There would then be a whole different kind of storm here. Whether or not this patch is mastered or pleasing is up for discussion, but devs airing a demo isn't the be-all-end-all when it comes to game play. 2. What has happened is simple math. The legs have been chopped off the extreme ends of the range game for most players, shortening the playing field and pushing everyone toward a neutral and more forgiving middle ground while greatly reducing the one hit kill weapons. This manufactures more probability of success for the masses. It's just business. Like it or hate it, pay for it or quit. Some folks are going to be made unhappy while trying to please a large player base. Some folks will be unhappy no matter what happens. Exhibit A attached hereinabove.
